I’m an LA-based writer, WSET-certified wine lover, and full-time content creator on a mission to make the good stuff feel a whole lot less intimidating and a whole lot more fun. Around here you’ll find approachable wine tips for millennials and Gen Z who want to sound like they have taste (minus the snobbery), bold, colorful style in a sea of algorithmic beige, food-first travel guides with the real logistics, and lifestyle content for the girls, the gays, and the theys.

Who’s That Girl?

I’m a Washington, D.C.-area native who followed the sunshine (and the wine country) out to Southern California. I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2013 with a degree in Mass Communications, then spent a few years in marketing for various media and software companies before finally betting on myself and going full-time.

Alicia Tenise started back in 2011, right after I interned at New York Fashion Week and couldn’t let go of the fashion world. What began as a way to stay connected turned into a career I genuinely never saw coming.

Since then, Washingtonian Magazine has named me one of the top fashion & beauty Instagram accounts to follow, I’ve been featured in Essence, interviewed in The Washington Post about the rise of the influencer economy, and included in ELLE Magazine’s April 2017 issue. I’ve also spoken on panels and led workshops teaching other creators how to build a real business in this industry — and in August 2022, I published my first book, From Harvest to Home.

In 2020, I was supposed to visit my 100th winery in the world. And, well, I think you know what happened. Since I couldn’t travel, I decided to get my WSET Certification in Wine instead, so I could become a better wine writer (and advocate!)

When I’m not working

You’ll find me in a dance class (my mom put me in ballet at three and it never quite wore off), hunting down the newest restaurant in town, attending Formula 1 races (or watch parties!), or talking myself into a spontaneous road trip.
