Guys: I love spring fashion. I know my opinion is a little unpopular amongst other fashion folks — while the layering of fall/winter is super fun and the textures are gorgeous, I’m a huge fan of all of the bold colors that spring lines have to offer. Winter is just odd: I counted, and I have about six different kinds of grey sweaters. SIX! What a bore.
I have to admit: I always gravitate towards stripes and nautical color schemes in the spring. There’s nothing wrong with this. However, I just did an inventory of how many blue and white striped tops/dresses/pants that I have and guys…it’s a lot. I might have a slight problem, and I need to stop!
When I was at both NYFW and the Atlanta Market last year, I fell in love with two different color trends this year: lilac and yellow. I’ve spotted the stunning lilac hue on some of my favorite fashion bloggers (hey, Aimee Song!), and I’ve been on the prowl for all things in this shade. I also knew I couldn’t pass up the gorgeous, golden yellow hue that’s going to be big this season: quite frankly, this color just makes me happy, and it’s such a refreshing shade to wear after donning various shades of grey all winter long.
The spring 2018 yellow is pretty bold, so I know that it can be intimidating for folks that aren’t used to wearing such bright hues. However, I think lilac and sky blue are two colors this spring that will look amazing on a variety of skin tones and aren’t too overpowering. And don’t worry, this yellow sundress I’m wearing also comes in navy just in case a bright yellow isn’t your thing!
