The last time I worked in an office with any sort of dress code was December 2016. As much as I enjoy working from home, sometimes I feel like a bit of a slob doing it. To be honest: on an average day I’ll get up, shower, and change into another pair of joggers, and call it a day.

Even though January is almost over, I’m still trying to stick to my blogger resolutions: one of them is making it a point to get out of my house more and network with contacts at meetings, head to more conferences and mingle with my other blog colleagues friends more. I live by myself and work by myself, so putting myself out there is the only way I can stay sane during the workday!

I headed up to NYC a few weeks ago for a few meetings, and I opted to wear this pleated midi skirt and turtleneck for a long day of bouncing around the city. I never needed a suit at my old 9-5 positions I had back in D.C., and my previous work environments were always business casual, and this office outfit is something I definitely would wear if I were still hustling at my old jobs. This winter workwear outfit is chic, professional, yet still has a punch of color and isn’t super stuffy. Not to mention, it will transition from desk to date night with ease.

In general, I’m a huge fan of the turtleneck + pleated midi skirt combo for winter. When it warms up, I like to pair my pleated midis with a jacket and heels for my office outfit. For the weekend, they look pretty fab with a crop top as well! Here are a few of my favorite pleated midi skirts at the moment:

At first glance, I thought you shot these near my office but then I realized you were waaaay downtown. Love your look here! I sometimes feel like I don’t get dressed up enough at work, so I love how easy this look is, yet you still look SO put together!

I have a similar skirt that I wore through the summer, but you’ve inspired me to pair it with a sweater for the winter!

  11. I am obsessed with this skirt! I love pleated skirts but I don’t own as many as I would like. This is giving me all sorts of ideas on how to style the pleated skirt look.

LOL, when I was a remote employee I went down hill in my wardrobe. PJs and yoga pants were a staple. Now that I go into an office each day, I am thankful that I can have fun with my wardrobe again.
