Charlottesville
Charlottesville sits at the heart of the Monticello AVA and is my favorite place to taste in the state. It is where I learned to appreciate wine, in a setting relaxed enough that asking questions never felt like a test.
Best time to visit
April through November. Summers are hot and humid but manageable; book months ahead for UVA graduation weekend.
