My day job’s dress code is pretty casual, so I always like to buy pieces that I can wear both to work and on the weekends. Considering the fact that I’m allowed to wear jeans to the office, that’s not something that’s hard to accomplish!
My company holiday party this year is right in the middle of the afternoon. My team will be looking a little festive, but there really wasn’t any reason for me to dress up to the nines and buy something that I might only wear once.
I’m so, so so obsessed with this classic buffalo check plaid skirt from Talbots. It’s festive enough to be appropriate at a holiday party, but it’s tame enough for me to rock to the office even after the holidays are over. I paired this one with a turtleneck so it’s a little more office friendly, but this could work with a silk tank if you’re going to a fancier occasion.
On a sizing note, this is totally supposed to be a midi skirt, but I got a petite size and my legs are insanely long, so this is now a knee-length skirt.
