Spas in Georgetown Washington D.C.

After years of essentially working two-full time jobs (hello, 9-5 and the blog!), one thing has been a must for me: a quarterly spa visit.

I love going to the spa to get either a facial or a massage (or both!) as a way to decompress, get some of the inevitable knots out of my neck/shoulders, and make sure that I’m getting the proper skincare that I need. I go about 4 times a year right now, but with how crazy my schedule has been lately, I definitely want to sneak in a few more visits!

The owner of Volta Esthetics + Massage Lab, Sarah Howell, invited me to check out her space and I was completely impressed. It’s definitely one of the cozier spas that I’ve been to lately, and a place where you can get amazing one-on-one service and personalized attention. It was a charming and luxurious space located in Georgetown that made me feel completely relaxed and made me forget about all of the stress working two jobs creates!

Sarah is a licensed Massage Therapist and Master Esthetician, and she opened Volta last October. Her approach is completely unique: she only performs services that she truly believes in. For example, she only performs one type of facial that she customizes to each client, because she understands that folks don’t want to be “sold to” while they’re at the spa: they simply come to have a relaxing experience.

Sarah also has a second employee who she dubs the “queen of waxing,” who I’m totally going to see next! Not only can she do a 15-minute Brazilian wax, but she also specializes in custom eyelash extensions and special occasion makeup.

I also had the chance to take a few product samples home that Sarah uses at the spa. She uses Osmosis products for skin care, a doctor developed line who’s philosophy is delivering high potent ingredients to the active dermal layer of the skin, such as vitamin A and fruit enzymes, without causing trauma or injury to the outer epidermal layer. This results in no added sensitivity, down time or irritation.

Want to book an appointment of your own? You can make one online, it’s super easy! Also, I’m giving away a $100 gift card to one lucky reader to try out Volta for themselves. You can enter via the Rafflecopter widget below. Bon chance!
