When I first started this blog, I was a college student on a major budget. I was style-obsessed and worked at one of my favorite shops mainly for the discount (looking at you South Moon Under!)
Now that I’m in my late-twenties, I honestly don’t shop as much as I did back in the day. Traveling has become more a priority for me, and I’m more likely to drop $$$ on a nice meal rather than buy a brand new head-to-toe ensemble. However, when I do pick up something new, I’m more likely to invest in something a tad nicer than scoop up all the budget-friendly, trendy items. I even did Rent the Runway’s Unlimited program for several months since I still wanted to be on-trend, but wanted to spend my money on experiences rather than outfits. Disclaimer, I still am gifted items by brands, and I can’t pass up a good sale, but I don’t drop as much money on clothes as I used to.
Anyway, here’s where you come in: what types of purchases are you more interested in? The awesome investment pieces, or the more attainable finds? I was immediately drawn to this floral print wrap dress because even though it’s less than $50, it looks like a million bucks. It’s the perfect option for date night, vacation, or even Sunday Brunch! It has more of a plunging neckline, but I pinned it together because I didn’t have my double-stick tape on me at the time — whoops!
I’m going to try to show a good mix of budget-friendly and investment pieces on here going forward. Since I’m getting closer to 30, I think it’s best to have a good mix of both kinds of pieces in your closet. A nice pair of jeans? Invest. A cute little wrap dress you might wear a handful of times? Save. There’s a time and a place for both!
