Today is the last day of #MentalHealthAwarenessMon

Today is the last day of #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, and this past month was the toughest yet for me mentally.
At the beginning of the month, I went to the hospital for a mental health crisis. I’ve been prescribed a couple of new medications to help stabilize my mood, and there were days when I would sleep 10-12 hours because of these new meds. I started to feel like a shell of myself, but it was either this or going nights on end without sleep due to anxiety. Getting all my work projects done was extremely challenging, but somehow, with a few extensions and help from friends and family, I got things done.
If you take anything away from this: it is that it’s perfectly fine to ask for help. Yes, you can check yourself into the hospital for a mental health crisis. Yes, you can talk to your primary care doc if something seems off — you don’t need to jump right into seeing a psychiatrist. And therapy is for EVERYBODY; no issue is too big or small!
I honestly cannot believe I made it through this month. It felt impossible just a few weeks ago. But I’m still here, thanks to *a lot* of help.

Okay, but can we use this post to manifest our dreams/goals/whatever we want to do this summer? Speak it into existence & tell me what YOU want to get done in the near future (nothing is too far-fetched!)
I have a few things:
1. I really want to learn how to play golf! I had an opportunity to get a lesson & watch an LPGA tournament last month, but I got sick and had to cancel 😭 Manifesting more opps in the future!
2. Video work! I’ve had the opportunity to take on some hosting gigs in the past couple of years, and I want more! Don’t worry — I’ll mainly stick to mostly photos on here, but on TikTok that’s another story, and I’m having fun learning more video production skills.
3. That I can make it to a Formula 1 Grand Prix this year. SOMEHOW!

Fun fact: in the early aughts, I was fully in my indie sleaze era 😂😂 so the @justlikeheaven festival in @visitpasadena was an absolute MUST for me! Danced and sang along to Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT, The Bravery, Ladytron + more until I lost my voice!

Two years ago, I decided to pack up everything and

Two years ago, I decided to pack up everything and move cross-country from Virginia to Los Angeles ✨ And decided to take the long route & drive cross-country instead of shipping my car!
If you have the chance to drive across the U.S. — DO IT. Got to explore so many spots that weren’t near an airport! Also, I loved how the topography changed from state to state once we hit Texas; this is really a stunning country to drive through!
Our (very scenic!) route was:
• Washington, D.C. — 1 night
• Louisville, KY — 2 nights
• Nashville, TN — 2 nights
• Memphis, TN — 1 night
• Austin, TX — 3 nights
• Marfa, TX — 3 nights (but try to come on a weekend!)
• Roswell, NM — 1 night (and left early so we could stop at @whitesandsnps before our next state!)
• Phoenix, AZ — 1 night
• Sedona, AZ — 2 nights
• Las Vegas — 2 nights
• San Diego — 2 nights
• Los Angeles — my new home 😊
We could have opted to drive through Colorado, which is also a fantastic option, but we had already done a CO road trip a few years ago, so opted to go south!
