Let’s chat about skincare, shall we?
Since I’m in my late twenties, I’m at a weird point where I still struggle with mild acne, and I’m also starting to introduce anti-aging products into my skincare routine. Since I have to be in front of a camera for the blog quite often, the pressure is on for my skin to look camera ready at all times.
One big beauty secret that I’ve learned over the years? You don’t have to break the bank to achieve flawless skin. Let me introduce you to one of my favorite budget-friendly skincare lines: Advanced Clinicals.

I was introduced to Advanced Clinicals when I was at a blog conference back in 2017, and I was hooked. At the conference, one of their skincare experts chatted with me about my skincare concerns and recommended that I try their Charcoal Detoxifying Clay Mask. After a long day at the conference, I remember heading back up to my hotel room and trying out my new mask with my roommates and instantly falling in love with it. My skin felt incredibly smooth, refreshed, and appeared visibly brighter. The best part? This mask was less than $15.
The kind folks at AC asked if I wanted to try out some of their other products and challenged me to share a No Makeup Selfie after a few weeks. The thought of going makeup-free was pretty intimidating, but I had a pretty incredible experience with their offerings in the past, so I was up for the challenge.
Out of all of the products that I tried, here were my three favorites:
Advanced Clinicals:
Coconut Visible Repair Body Oil
Let’s face it: it’s pretty embarrassing to walk around with ashy skin during the winter. Over the last couple of years, I’ve started to use a body oil in addition to my lotion for an extra layer of hydration, and the results have been pretty amazing. After I jump out of the shower, I immediately apply Advanced Clinicals‘ Coconut Visible Repair Body Oil to my skin to lock in moisture, and then layer my favorite body lotion over the oil. This product is infused with Cocoa Butter, Avocado Oil, and Neem Oil to help reduce the appearance of scars, stretch marks, and uneven skin tone while improving moisture retention. And the best part? It’s only $12.95!
Activated Charcoal Peel-Off Face Mask
Since I had great results using Advanced Clinicals‘ Charcoal Detoxifying Clay Mask, I figured I’d switch things up and give their Charcoal Peel-Off Face Mask a try. I have combination skin, and it’s difficult to find masks that work for both my oily t-zone and dry cheeks, but this mask worked like a charm. It reduced the size of my pores, tightened my skin, and gave my cheeks some much-needed hydration. Leave this mask on for 20 minutes and then slowly peel it off once it’s dry.
Tumeric Oil
I usually use a mattifying lotion on my face because of my oily t-zone, but in the winter, I typically need an extra boost of hydration. I started to mix in a few drops of Advanced Clinicals‘ Tumeric Oil with my lotion and loved the results. My skin felt a lot softer, it reduced the appearance of any blemishes that I had, and it helped smooth my skin. You can also layer this product underneath of your moisturizer if you have drier skin for more hydration!
