I’ve always had a laid-back Thanksgiving. I don’t have any brothers or sisters, and my mother’s side of the family lives nearly 3 hours away, so most of the time I celebrate Thanksgiving just with my mom. Since I’ve attended such a small dinner over the years, I haven’t had an excuse to go over the top with my Thanksgiving outfit.
Fast forward to 2017: I was invited to a dinner by one of the chicest bloggers I know in D.C. Seriously, the girl owns an event planning company! This is the first time I will ever dress up for the occasion, and I’m pretty stoked about that!
I wanted to give some Thanksgiving outfit inspiration today, and show you two different outfit ideas to wear on Turkey Day!
Casual Thanksgiving Outfit Idea
Top: BB Dakota | Jeans: Madewell | Boots: Similar | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff
If I was sticking around at home with my mom this year, this is the Thanksgiving outfit I would wear! This sweater is one of the softest things I own, and it will give you plenty of room to expand. I slightly dressed up this ensemble with my favorite pair of block heel suede boots and my favorite embroidered crossbody bag. This look is perfect for all of those laid back family gatherings and Friendsgivings on your calendar!
Dressy Thanksgiving Outfit Idea
Dress: Free People | Shoes: Steve Madden | Necklace and Earrings: Kendra Scott
This is what I’m actually wearing to Thanksgiving because it will be a bit more of a dressier occasion this fall! I love dresses with a tie belt because real talk: I can loosen my dress at any time during the evening. Just being honest here! I gravitated toward this beautiful fall floral printed dress because it was a bit unexpected. It isn’t your typical lumpy sweater dress! The colors are perfect for a festive occasion, and it is super, super comfortable. This dress runs a bit big and is super comfy, so if you’re in between sizes, I would size down!
I love the two moods you have chosen for fall. I am more casual so I love the jeans and sweater and those boots are so nice.
I love both outfits! I’m more of a sweater and boots girl for Thanksgiving, but that dress is seriously stunning!

That floral maxi dress is perfection! But you look amazing in both outfits!
Belle | One Awesome Momma
these are perfect. We are a more chill thanksgiving family, so we don’t go all out with our outfits either.
Love both of these looks! I’m probably going to wear something super casual to my cousin’s house and get dressed up for Christmas!
Pink Champagne Problems
I like both, but the first one is my favorite. Those boots!
That dress is absolutely stunning!

North + South + Navy
That dress is darling! It also looks comfy, win-win!
I am a fan of dresses and the floral print on the one you are wearing is so pretty!
Love the second look, that’s a gorgeous dress!
