Ah, fall: as most of us who are based in the mid-Atlantic or the South know, even though fall fashion has hit stores full force, it won’t be cooling down anytime soon.

So how to you rock your favorite fall pieces now when it’s still a gajillion degrees outside? I’ve teamed up with South Moon Under today to spill on some tips and tricks on how to transition your wardrobe from summer to fall, even when it really doesn’t feel like fall outside!

  1. Ease in with denim

Good news: instead of it being 90 degrees, it’s cooled off to a comfortable 80 degrees! Hey, we will take any cooling off we can get here in D.C. Since the nights are getting cooler, I’m slowly but surely reintroducing denim back into my wardrobe. I’m a huge fan of A Gold E, a line that South Moon Under always carries! It has the quality of high-end designer denim with a way better price tag! This pair that I picked up is insanely soft and is one of the most comfortable pair of jeans I own!

  2. Change your color palette

If it’s still too hot to rock sweaters and boots, start by shifting your color palette and rock muted tones during these transition months. When I saw this off the shoulder ruffle top from Abbeline, I knew it had to be mine! It is a really pretty mauve shade that turns heads every time I wear it.

  3. Take advantage of sandal weather

Don’t put your sandals in storage just yet! I picked up this suede pair of tie-up sandals back in June from South Moon Under, and the fabric is still perfect for fall! While it’s still warm out, take your suede sandals out for a spin and show off those pedicures one last time before you have to say goodbye to them during the colder months!

  4. Wear your fall handbags now

The beauty of handbags? Even if you wear a fall one when it’s a million degrees outside, it won’t make you any more hot or any less comfortable! South Moon Under has a similar Rebecca Minkoff bag to the one that I’m wearing, and the colors of the tassels match with so many of my outfits yet add a fun pop of color to any look!

My other longtime blogger friends, Katherine of Style Tab and Tilden of To Be Bright, also styled some amazing fall transition outfits with South Moon Under as well — make sure to check out their looks and get some amazing fall outfit inspiration!

So obsessed with this outfit! I’m glad we’re on the same page about still rocking sandals… I’m not ready for boots just yet! Also, the color on that top is too perfect!

  3. These are fantastic tips. I am already trying to hoard all the burgandy, olive and stripes for Fall this year. And the tip about the handbags is a great idea that I would’ve never thought of on my own.
