Shop the Summer Bucket List Post:
Ah, bucket lists. If you can’t tell, I’m a huge fan of them. I have a short bucket list for Philadelphia for the last month that I’m a resident here, but I have a lot of things I want to accomplish for Summer 2018 other than a long-distance move.
I’m writing this post on a plane headed to San Francisco – so I’m happy to report that I’m already knocking off something that’s been on my overall bucket list since forever. Here are a few more things I’m hoping to cross off my summer bucket list!
Read at Least 4 Books
I have a really bad habit of working on planes. Like for example, I’m writing a blog post on my cross-country flight right now.
Instead of working, I’m hoping to actually relax when I travel, and start picking up a book or two for my next trip. If you have any book recommendations, let me know – I’d love to hear them!
Summer Bucket List Travel Goals: Denver, Austin, Memphis and the Northeast
So, I’ve already booked my flights to both Denver and Austin, so those two cities are a sure bet! However, I’ve been dying to go new-to-me two spots this year: Memphis and the Northeast. While I’ve explored Boston, I want to hit up a few coastal towns further north, like Portland or Newport, RI. I also have a huge craving for some authentic BBQ, so clearly, Memphis is on the list!
Actually Go To the Beach
Can I admit something to you all? I haven’t had a summer beach trip since 2016. And even then, it was the 4th of July and it was unseasonably chilly in Delaware, so we didn’t actually lay out on the sand at all.
I’m not the biggest beach vacation person – I’d rather explore a major city or travel to go wine tasting. However, It’s still a shame since I currently live super close to the Jersey Shore. This summer, I’m hoping to squeeze in at least one trip to the beach, and dip my toes in the ocean!
Save Money
Okay, I have to admit: it’s ironic to chat about all these trips and vacations, and then to talk about saving money. It’s also not a super sexy summer bucket list item. However, I’ll be living at home for the next couple of months while I’m waiting for the lease for my new apartment to start, so I’m going to be able to save a ton of money not having to deal with rent of utilities for a bit.
I’m also trying to make it a habit to get more groceries and cook more while I’m home instead of eating out. Grabbing quick dinners from the grocery store is also an easy and inexpensive option as well if I’m not home long enough to go on a full grocery haul.
