First and foremost: I feel like I was kind of slacking on the blog last week (only 2 posts went live, which is very unlike me!) I was a little burned out, and instead of putting up a subpar post, I decided to take the time to regroup and come back strong later.
Something about the month of May always seems to get me, too. I always end up traveling like crazy in May, and when I’m not on the road, there are a ton of events and festivals that I end up covering. I’m not complaining about the events and traveling — however, I’m the kind of person who likes to unplug when they’re on vacation or at a festival and take everything in. Unfortunately, I can only unplug to a certain extent because of my job.
Speaking of events: I headed down to the Taste of Monticello Wine Trail Festival in Charlottesville this past weekend, and I had a blast. I’ve done a ton of wine tasting in Charlottesville in the past, however, I definitely discovered a few new favorite wineries this weekend at the Sparkling Brunch and Grand Tasting Event. If you’re a wine lover, I would 100% plan on attending this festival next year!
Also, this weekend definitely felt like straight up summer. It was 90 degrees and the heat was just a tad uncomfortable. Since summer made its debut a tad bit early, I’m stocking up on the breeziest of outfits now. This striped jumpsuit I found at Urban Outfitters is a new favorite: it’s lightweight, a great alternative to a maxi dress, and I got a ton of compliments when I wore it out around town.
Since I’m still in PT for my knee, it’s a little difficult for me to wear heels at the moment. These espadrilles pair perfectly with pretty much everything I have in my closet, and it’s a nice option for when I want to dress up an outfit a bit!
