SPRING BLUE OUTFIT DETAILS

Happy first day of spring to all of us in the Northeast: we’re predicted to get hit with 3-6 inches of snow today.
I can’t say I’m surprised. I feel like this happens every year like clockwork: winter seems to be somewhat mild, we get hit with a few glorious 60ish degree days in February, we think spring is right around the corner and then boom. Snow in March. As a March baby, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to cancel my birthday plans because of sleet or snow!
The delay of spring might be a little depressing (especially having SAD), but I’m trying to look at the upside this year. Here are a few reasons why I’m ok with winter lingering around for a bit longer this year.
More Excuses to Make a Spontaneous Trip
Guys: have you heard of the app GTFO? It stands for “Get The Flight Out.” At the moment, it’s for iPhone users only, but man: it’s a glorious app. It shows you a list of ridiculously cheap flights leaving out of your home airport within the next 5 days. It’s quite dangerous, actually! As I type, there’s a $93 roundtrip flight from Philly to New Orleans that leaves tomorrow…
It’s actually kind of easy to find and book a cheap flight to somewhere warmer if you’re over winter. I have another post on how I snag the best flight deals — say yes to more spontaneous getaways!
Rewear & Remix Your Favorite Winter Pieces
I totally forgot to put up this outfit up on the blog, but it was one of my favorites this winter. This plaid top (which is now on sale!) added a much-needed pop of color to my drab, grey winter wardrobe. I added a chunky sweater to it when it was super chilly out, and I plan on wearing it with a lighter wash jean once it warms up a bit to transition it to spring.
If you’re sick of your winter wardrobe, never fear: it’s easy to get inspired and get yourself out of a winter style rut.
More Time Indoors = More Time to Organize
Let’s be real: I’m still in full-on hibernation mode with this weather. If I’m not on a travel blog assignment or visiting a friend in another city, you won’t see me outside of my apartment. Since it’s not going to get above 50 degrees in the next 10 days, I plan on using that time to really deep clean and organize my apartment. As a blogger, I have a ton of PR packages that I’m sent that I really need to sort through, so I’m in the process of making a game plan to hang around my house for the next few days and get it in tip-top shape!
