As most of you know, I went to New York Fashion Week a month ago (you can see my recaps here and here.) Between the hype of events, parties, and swag, the real reason why editors, buyers, and bloggers head to Fashion Week sometimes gets a little lost. I enjoy going to Fashion Week because of all of the trend-spotting, whether it’s on the runway or on the streets!

I had two internships in New York in college: one was on a production team of a major brand, and the other was at a PR firm. While I was working at my production team, I was introduced to Market Week. It was my job to keep the showroom in perfect condition and be knowledgeable of our product to wow any buyers coming in. Honestly, Market Week was a little more hectic in my opinion than Fashion Week, because that’s when buyers and editors had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the product.

Well, guess what? This girl right here is headed to market for the first time as a blogger tomorrow! I’m flying down to Atlanta for AmericasMart and I’m getting a first-hand look at the latest trends for Resort and Spring from my favorite clothing brands at the October Atlanta Apparel Mart. I’m super excited to see what’s going to be in stores come spring — I have a hunch that I’ll spot a lot of yellow, lavender and fringe based on what I spotted on the runways at NYFW last month.

What would you guys like to see from Mart? Let me know in the comments below!
