Happy Monday, friends! I spent a super relaxing weekend at home, laid low, and practiced a bit of self-care. I’ve been feeling very anxious lately. I think it’s because I’ve simply been a little burned out over the past few weeks after coming back from Paris.
Being self-employed is fantastic, yet challenging at the same time. When I was on vacation, it was a little difficult for me to disconnect and stop checking email. Even though I had an out of office on, I still had folks follow up over and over again — and I ended up caving and spending a bit of time each morning doing work. After getting back into the country, I piled on the projects and began setting up photoshoots like crazy.
I didn’t post anything to Instagram this weekend, I didn’t open up my emails, and I put my phone in a separate room for hours at a time. It felt fantastic. I still have a ton of work to do this week. However, it was nice to separate myself from work/social media for a couple of days and enjoy the weekend with my family!
Anyway — why you’re probably here: the fashion and this polka dot blouse outfit! I know a good chunk of folks who come to this blog only look at the photos before leaving a comment (shoutout if you take the time to read the ~300 words I post here, wink wink). I’ve been so-so on white jeans for a while. I have them, but by the time summer comes around, it’s way too hot and humid in the Northeast to tolerate them. I’ve decided to bust mine out a little before Memorial Day this year, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. They’re perfect for the random 60ish degrees we’ve been having as of late!
Also, polka dots? I used to be obsessed with them in high school. They never went out of style really, but I just haven’t added any new dotted pieces to my wardrobe lately. This ruffled polka dot blouse is super fun, and would also look amazing with a denim mini skirt when it gets a little warmer.
