It’s time for this month’s Foodie Files! For those of you who aren’t up to speed just yet, eating is basically my favorite hobby. I mean come on, my last name is Chew. I don’t know why I started a fashion blog instead of a food blog, it’s practically my destiny. Foodie Files pairs my two loves: food and fashion. I’ll take you to one of my favorite restaurants in D.C. and I’ll show you what to wear while dining as well.
This month I’m chatting all about Ping Pong Dim Sum. I’m going to let you in on a little secret: before heading to Ping Pong, I never tried dim sum. For those of you who want to ease your way into dim sum, Ping Pong is the perfect restaurant to do so. It’s pretty Americanized and a lite version of dim sum. Plus, they have a bottomless brunch that features mimosas and other quirky fusion recipes such as chicken and green tea waffles, egg & cheese spring rolls and mango black tea french toast.
While the fusion dishes were fantastic, make sure to load up on dumplings and share them with the table. My favorite was the blue crab and sweet corn shu mai. They also have a stunning outdoor patio so you can enjoy brunch al fresco and people watch in the lively neighborhood of Dupont. Brunch here is super casual, so I decided to rock my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans, gladiators and a striped tee.
Overall I was a huge fan of Ping Pong. If you’re a dim sum snob and looking for something super authentic, this might not be the place for you. However, if you want to try dim sum for the first time, Ping Pong is ideal and absolutely delicious. Cannot wait to head back here!
