Fun fact: in the early aughts, I was fully in my indie sleaze era 😂😂 so the @justlikeheaven festival in @visitpasadena was an absolute MUST for me! Danced and sang along to Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT, The Bravery, Ladytron + more until I lost my voice!
This summer, Pasadena has an impressive lineup of festivals, concerts, + more —if you’re a music lover like I am, you’re going to want to check out the upcoming live music schedule on Visit Pasadena’s website!

Two years ago, I decided to pack up everything and

Two years ago, I decided to pack up everything and move cross-country from Virginia to Los Angeles ✨ And decided to take the long route & drive cross-country instead of shipping my car!
If you have the chance to drive across the U.S. — DO IT. Got to explore so many spots that weren’t near an airport! Also, I loved how the topography changed from state to state once we hit Texas; this is really a stunning country to drive through!
Our (very scenic!) route was:
• Washington, D.C. — 1 night
• Louisville, KY — 2 nights
• Nashville, TN — 2 nights
• Memphis, TN — 1 night
• Austin, TX — 3 nights
• Marfa, TX — 3 nights (but try to come on a weekend!)
• Roswell, NM — 1 night (and left early so we could stop at @whitesandsnps before our next state!)
• Phoenix, AZ — 1 night
• Sedona, AZ — 2 nights
• Las Vegas — 2 nights
• San Diego — 2 nights
• Los Angeles — my new home 😊
We could have opted to drive through Colorado, which is also a fantastic option, but we had already done a CO road trip a few years ago, so opted to go south!

So happy to chat about the very first wine region I ever visited on this #WineWednesday — and ten years and 175+ winery visits around the world, it still has a special place in my heart!
My Top 5 Favorite Wineries in Loudoun County:
• @boxwoodestatewinery: their wine cave experience is a must!
• @canavineyards: great wine & fantastic ambiance here.
• @greenhillwine: the very first winery I ever visited ten years ago. It has held up well over the years!
• @walshfamilywine: I can confidently say this is one of my favorite wineries in the state! Excellent staff, incredible wine, and a great laid-back environment to learn more about wine.
• @vawinereserve: such a fun tasting room (they serve wine flights in test tubes!) and lovely customer service. Loved that they offered my friends in my party that didn’t drink the prettiest mocktails!

Some of the best things I ate & drank during my @visitloudoun trip — AKA #DCsWineCountry!
If you’re local to the area, or making a plan to visit DC in the near future, SAVE this post for the best eats!
EATS:
• @redfoxinntavern — their 4-course dinner is DIVINE, and easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Northern Virginia (and besties…I’m a NOVA native!)
• @goodstoneinn’s breakfast — on
SO GOOD. They also offer dinner, but book far in advance — this restaurant books quickly!
• @kingstreetoyster — you guys know that I am PICKY about my crab cakes…and King Street Oyster delivered. Plus, they have a huge oyster selection & other great seafood dishes!
• @thetremolobar — great cocktails and small plates. They can accommodate anything from a small date night to bachelorette parties!
• @harrimansgrill, located at the @salamanderresort — I’m telling you now, you’ll want to put this brunch on your bucket list. It’s a 3 course meal made with some of the best local ingredients.
WINES (more info in another post coming soon, but here were some highlights!):
• @boxwoodestatewinery’s barrel room tasting was DIVINE and a perfect spot for a cozy wine experience
• @greenhillwine — the first winery I EVER went to 10 years ago! Gorgeous property, great staff, and get a Blanc de Blancs if you can.

Barbie goes to the gardens 🌹🌹🌺 spent a lovely afternoon at @thehuntingtonlibrary! Spent 2.5 hours here but could have easily gone for longer. The Rose Garden is in full bloom right now, and it’s a must see!
Thanks to @visitpasadena for making this happen, and to @tuckernuck for gifting me this dress straight from Barbie’s closet!! JK — it’s part of their new collection that @blaireadiebee designed, but it’s pretty much perfection 😍
