Thank you to Olay for partnering with me on today’s self care routine post! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

One upside of spending extra time to spend at home over the last few months? I’ve seriously stepped up my self-care game.

It’s been hard for me to get into any kind of routine over the last few years because my travel schedule has been nuts. Now that I’m staying put in one city, one climate, and one home, I feel like a bit of order has been restored in my life. I complete a super long nighttime skincare routine on Sunday evenings, we go grocery shopping on Tuesdays, I’ve been able to develop a few more hobbies, and we’ve finally set a cleaning schedule.

Now that we’re headed into summer, I’m hoping to make my self-care routine even better. Here are a few things I’m planning on doing this summer to elevate my experience at home!

Step Up My Summer Self Care Routine with Olay Regenerist Whip SPF 40

Over the last few months, I’ve transformed my bathroom into a mini at-home spa. I’ve had a lot of time to try out new skincare products, and I’m feeling pretty confident with my routine. My skin has never looked better!

Growing up, I noticed that my mom wore SPF every single morning, like clockwork. It didn’t matter if it was summer or winter, she applied it religiously. Now? Most people assume that she’s a solid 15-20 years younger than she is. Her skin looks incredible, and I’m doing everything I can to get on her level!

I’ve become a big SPF fanatic over the last few years. Growing up, I tried a ton of sunscreens that were greasy and didn’t flatter my dark skin at all. However, I’ve been using Olay sunscreens for a few years now, and I’ve been loving the results.

Over the last few months, I’ve been using Olay Regenerist Whip SPF 40, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my AM skincare routine. I like to do a shorter skin routine in the mornings so I can get up, out of bed, and get to work as soon as possible, so the fact that the Regenerist Whip is a great lightweight moisturizer with SPF and face sunscreen all in one is super key for me.

The Olay Regenerist Whip SPF 40 not only protects my skin from UVA/UVB rays, but it also is a great anti-aging skincare product as well. It is formulated with Olay’s advanced Amino-Peptide Complex II, which actively hydrates to improve skin’s elasticity and firms your skin. I also love that it absorbs fast and never feels greasy. It’s incredibly blendable and looks great on its own, and it also acts as a great makeup primer.

Taking Classes and Trying New Hobbies

Back when I worked my 9-5, my blog was my hobby and creative outlet. Now that I blog full-time and this is now my career…well, that means I need a new creative outlet on the side! Admittedly, since my travel schedule has been non-stop over the past few years, I haven’t successfully been able to commit to most hobbies. However, now that I have the extra time, I’m committed to gaining a better sense of work-life balance, and trying out new, non-blog related activities during my downtime!

You would be shocked at how many new hobbies you can pick up virtually at home this summer. I recently signed up for a couple of courses. You guys know that I’m pretty into wine, so I signed up for a WSET Level 1 course that starts this week, so I can learn more about wine and the industry. I also signed up for a beginner level braiding class so I can learn to do my hair at home while some of my favorite salons are closed.

Are you trying out a new hobby this summer? Let me know in the comments!

Getting Fresh Air Responsibly

ICYMI: We moved into a townhouse from an apartment last summer, and we have a deck, a rooftop balcony, and a small backyard to enjoy. How exciting!

During the workday, I try to take a break to get some fresh air. Whether that’s a walk in my neighborhood, reading on my patio, doing an outdoor workout in my backyard, I know that it’s essential to get a little Vitamin D in my life and head outside if it’s nice out. I’ll throw on my Regenerist Whip SPF 40 and enjoy all that our neighborhood has to offer!
