Let’s face it: your moisturizer is the MVP of your entire skincare routine. Sure: cleansers, masks, and serums all work wonders on our skin, but a moisturizer is something you should 100% be using both day and night.
Whenever you cleanse your face, you remove some of the good skin oils, which often results in over-drying. And did you know that dry skin is less elastic and can lead to the early development of fine lines and wrinkles? Hard pass on that!

Not All Summer Moisturizers are Created Equally
Back in high school and college, I honestly just grabbed whatever moisturizer was trendy at the drug store. All I knew about my skin was that it was prone to breakouts and that I needed to cleanse, tone, and moisturize.
Welp, as I got older and started to invest a bit more into my skin, I realized that not all moisturizers are a fit for my skin type and lifestyle. I learned that I have combination skin and a super oily t-zone. After I started blogging, I noticed after many photoshoots that my skin was very prone to shine — and I knew I had to opt for a summer moisturizer that was a bit more mattifying.
I grew up thinking that moisturizers needed to be heavy and took forever to dry, but that’s not the case at all, my friends! I started using Olay moisturizers religiously a little over two years ago (you can see them in action here and here), and I’ve found that their products work wonders on my skin.
Which Olay Red Jar Moisturizer is Right for You?
Olay’s “Red Jar” Moisturizers (AKA the Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream or Regenerist Whip) address the number one skincare concerns for women: fine lines, dryness, uneven skin tone and visible pores. They both contain Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), which regenerates surface cells and strengthens skin’s natural moisture barrier, and Amino–Peptide Complex II, which helps improve skin’s elasticity, smoothness, and firmness.

AM I AN OLAY MICRO-SCULPTING CREAM OR A WHIPS GAL?
Based on the quiz I shared above, I’m an Olay Regenerist Whip kind of gal. I’m very prone to shine, have combination skin, and love my beauty sleep, and the Whips works absolute wonders.
