Better late than never: here is my very last NYFW FW 2017 recap! This one is a little different, because I also included my brand new YouTube video that recaps the entire week I was there. My little YouTube channel is still super new, so feel free to subscribe and send over suggestions!
Days 4 and 5 had some of my favorite shows: Leanne Marshall, Katty Xiomara and Sherri Hill. I also took a bit of downtime on that Sunday night to just go hang out with non-fashion week people. I always feel like it’s so important to have one night of fashion week where you just kick it!
Anyway, without further ado: here is the recap!
Day 4
11:00 AM: I mosey on over to the Bloglovin’ HQ for the cutest little blogger brunch! They had mini massages from Zeel, an amazing set up from Away, and I met a ton of new bloggers. It was a really fantastic experience to be able to sit down and lounge a bit before shows!
1:00 PM: I headed over to Freida Rothman with some of my new found blogger friends for the cutest event where we learned how to stack rings! I’m still super hesitant to stack rings since my fingers are so small and rings slide off of me super easily, but it was awesome to play with her jewelry!

3:00 PM: This is honestly one of my favorite shows every fashion week: Leanne Marshall. I love how romantic and feminine this collection is every year, and this season did not disappoint! She used a lot of dreamy chiffons, bold reds, and black and white stripes and I was loving pretty much everything that was coming down the runway.
6:00 PM: This is where I needed a little bit of downtime to just hang out in jeans and no makeup — so necessary!
Day 5
11:00 AM: I wake up to meet with Lauren, the sweetest photographer from Dallas, and we shoot all around town: Midtown, The Plaza, Central Park, you name it, we did it. I’ve been to NYC so many times and have had to rush through shoots, so it was nice to relax and take the time to get the best shots!

2:00 PM: I head down to Pier 59 for the Katty Xiomara show and it easily became one of my favorite collections of the week! I loved how playful this collection was, the stunning blue hues, and the metallic accents. My favorite part about this collection is that these are sophisticated pieces that one could wear everyday — no need to wait for a special occasion to don this collection.
3:00 PM: Face time is very important to me during NYFW, so I head over to Chelsea Market to meet with a rep from Shopstyle Collective to chat about all things blogging. She had some fantastic tips for me, and I was very thankful she was able to walk me through their amazing platform!
5:30 PM: Sherri Hill is always a super fun show! For starters, the people watching here is insane. A room full of stunning pageant queens? Sign me up! Not to mention, I saw Simone Biles at last season’s show and had a major fangirl moment! I’m always in awe with the intricate detailing on each gown, and loved the bold reds and metallics of this collection.
7:00 PM: I meet with some of my favorite PR ladies, and we dine and wine until my 10pm train back to D.C. Couldn’t have asked for a better ending to a fantastic week!
Overall Trends
Color-wise, bold reds and rich blues ruled king on the runways. The three shows I went to were all so different so it’s a tad bit difficult to summarize common themes between each collection, but for the week overall, fun layering, the 70s and embellishments were major themes I saw on the runways!
I was totally sitting across from you at Leanne Marshall and was way too nervous to come say hi. I’ll grow a pair next season đ Loved your video!!!
xoxo Kelsey
