Let’s chat about skincare, shall we?

My skincare journey is pretty interesting, to say the least. I have t-zone/combination skin and I suffered from pretty bad acne in the past, so as a teenager I gravitated toward the heavy duty acne fighting products that had a tendency to dry my skin out. As I get older, while I still get breakouts from time to time, I’ve found that gentler products tend to do the trick, and I’ll use spot treatments as needed!

Here’s a glimpse at what my nighttime skincare routine looks like nowadays!

  1. Makeup Removal & Cleansing

I used to use a separate cleanser, makeup remover and mask, but it’s crazy to do all three of those steps at the same time. By the end of the day I just wanted to go to bed, and not spend a million hours on a skincare routine. I started using Olay Daily Facials Daily Clean 4-in-1 Water Activated Cleansing Cloths and this one product can accomplish all three of those steps at once, which is perfect for a girl on the go like me. I also like to bring these with me on photoshoots if I need to change out my lipstick during a multi-outfit shoot because it isn’t too harsh on my skin.

I definitely feel like I could go makeup free after using these wipes! It makes my skin feel super soft. Living the #NoMakeUpRequired life!

  2. Detox Oil

This is something new that I’ve added to my nighttime skincare routine, but definitely something that I love! I highly recommend using a detox oil after cleansing or a mask because it will give your skin a fabulous glow when you wake up. I might not get a ton of sleep at times, but when I use this oil, I always wake up looking refreshed and ready to go.

  3. Night Moisturizer

The moisturizer I use at night is a little thicker than the one I use during the day. I really aim for the hydration to seep into my skin at night! The one I personally use has a bit of Vitamin C and Brightening capabilities; if you ever have breakouts I would highly recommend products that will brighten your skin to eliminate as much acne scarring as possible.

  4. Eye Cream

Last but certainly not least, I always make sure to put on some eye cream before going to bed. The eye cream I personally love to use is anti-pollution and anti-aging. Let’s face it, I am creeping closer to 30, so I want to start using anti-aging products now to keep my skin looking as youthful as possible!

What are your nighttime skincare tips and tricks?

I LOVE your routine. I need to try these Olay wipes, I’m all about that kind of product. I typically use a thick moisturizer too – and then I always spritz myself with Lumene’s arctic water mist for an extra hydration boost. Before bed, I’ll use my Patchology eye gels because #bags.

I think I’m going to try using a detox oil like you. Usually, I just use a cleanser and put acne cream on. Thanks for sharing your night time routine!

I’ve got that combination skin struggle, too! I try to be good about moisturizing, but I forget pretty often. I need to work on establishing a better skincare routine!
