MiO Electrolytes Review

What a Fashion Blogger's Office Looks Like

Ah, caffeine. I may or may not be mildly addicted to it, and I’ve noticed that as a small business owner with a never ending to-do list, I’ve been reaching for a cup of coffee 2-3 times a day.

While I adore my coffee, I’ve definitely seen the effects of drinking it 2-3 times a day. For starters, my teeth could 100% use a whitening.  As someone who’s in front of the camera a lot, this poses a huge problem! My hand also starts shaking a bit in the afternoon when I don’t get my second cup in on time. No bueno, my friends. No bueno.

I’ve been switching up my routine a bit and trying out a few new things to shake off the afternoon slump these last two weeks, and I honestly? I couldn’t be happier and more productive! Here’s what I’ve been doing lately to get my energy up in the late afternoon:

Take a Walk

I work from home and live in a super walk-able neighborhood, so if I feel myself shutting down at 3pm, I’ll log off of my computer and take a quick walk around the block. It’s good to get fresh air, and people watching in my part of town is also pretty entertaining as well. I also live only a 5-minute walk from the grocery store as well, so I’ll also use that opportunity to pick up any photoshoot or office supplies as well if I need them!

Opt for Electrolytes Rather Than Caffeine

Since I’m trying to drink less coffee and more water throughout the day, I need a little something to give me that energy boost I need! I started to swap out my afternoon cup of coffee for a combination of water and MiO Electrolytes a few weeks ago, and it’s been a gamechanger. This product has electrolytes and B vitamins, and it also makes my water taste a million times better. It’s also free of sugar, fat and cholesterol, so it’s a great alternative to caffeine as well if you need something to help out with that 3:00 slump!

Work Out During Lunch

Ok…I get that if you have a typical 9-5, this may or may not work for you. But my body just needs to move overall, and nothing makes me feel more energized than a workout class. I like to work out in the morning, but sometimes I’ll have an event the night before that runs late and I just need to sleep in. Working out in the middle of the day gives me a fantastic boost of energy, and afterwards I come back to my desk feeling ready to conquer the world.

Schedule Conference Calls in the Afternoon

This might be a weird thing that only I like to do, but since I work at home, I live alone, and I am a team of one, it’s easy to feel a little tired since I get very limited human interaction during the day! After I have a big glass of water infused with MiO Electrolytes, I like to schedule a few conference calls in the afternoon if a brand needs to chat before kicking off a collaboration. Scheduling calls in the afternoon also gives me more time to prep for a call, and review my current stats so I can deliver up to date info about my blog to the brand.

What gives you an energy boost during the work day?

I drink one cup of coffee a day mainly because I am breastfeeding so that really keeps me accountable. I also workout around 10 or 11am this gives me my extra burst of energy so I can begin my work day super late lol!! And I also thankfully do not have any crashes later in the evening. Before I used to get super tired around 3 or 5 but that was because I was drinking those venti macchiatos from Starbucks lol!!
How do you stay organized as a blogger? I really want to know I love your blog 🙂

Love your tips! I drink about 2 iced coffees a day, but I want to try to eliminate that (plus the sugar and cream I add) from my diet.

I am a coffee ADDICT! I’m trying to cut back (I’ve gotten to drinking black coffee) and have found that working out first thing in the morning does a great job to curb my morning cravings.

  9. I started drinking matcha tea to replace some of my coffee. It still has caffeine, but a least it’s got a lot of health benefits.

I’ve been slowly trying to cut out caffeine (mildly failing). I’ve started swapping coffee energising foods like apples. If I’m still lagging, I try drinking cold water. But there are still days that I wake up and there is no way I’ll be able to go without a coffee.
