Did you know that yesterday was National Ice Cream Day? Last night, Tom and I went out to dinner in Clifton, VA and had dessert at Petersons Ice Cream Depot, which is one of my favorite local spots. Clifton is a breath of fresh air compared to most of the other towns in Northern Virginia. It’s charming, has a small-town feel, and even has not one, but two wineries. I’m hoping to put together a mini-travel guide up for this city soon since it’s only 30 minutes away from D.C. and would make for the perfect day trip.
Anyway — I decided to wear one of my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale purchases out to dinner: this darling floral dress. I saw this floral dress on Jessica’s blog last week, and I thought it fit her like a dream. I wasn’t planning on getting it, but when I stopped by the store to pick up my online orders, I decided to try it on. It fit like a dream, and I didn’t want to take it off. Welp, it definitely had to come home with me!
The thing I like about this floral dress is that I can easily transition it from summer to fall with ease. It’s hard to think about fall when it’s 100 degrees outside, however, it will be here before you know it. Since I’m moving even further south, I know it’s going to stay hot for a while — so instead of preemptively buying sweaters and jackets, I wanted something that I could rock when it’s inevitably going to be 80 degrees in October.
I’m styling this little number with my espadrilles and a wicker bag now, and I plan on wearing it with a leather jacket and booties once it gets chilly out.
