Alert, alert: one of my favorite holidays is *this* Friday — St. Patrick’s Day! I’ve had a blast celebrating this holiday pretty much every year, and the fact that it happens during my birthday month doesn’t hurt either!
I’ve lived in 4 cities over the last 6 years (Philly, NYC, DC and Richmond), and on St. Patty’s Day, they all have such unique St. Patty’s Day events. I love going out and exploring the town on this holiday — but first, it’s always been a tradition for my friends and I to meet up before the huge, crazy event in town and to have a little pre-party amongst ourselves. I have to say that this is my favorite part of the entire day, just being able to relax and celebrate with my friends!
Since I typically only host a pre-party for St. Patricks Day, I like to keep things simple and make my space look like a million bucks on a budget! The first thing I do is head to Target and stock up on pieces from their $1 section: this is where I found the popcorn tins, banner, beads and garland. These can exclusively be found in their store, so unfortunately you can’t scoop these up online!
Popcorn is an easy snack to prepare that will tide my friends over, but I’ve also made bagel stations in the past for those super early morning St. Patty’s Day events. I also invested in this little lightbox where I can change out the letters and phrases for every holiday/even. Trust me, it’s the best $30 purchase I’ve made in a while!
As for drinks, I get in the spirit with IZZE Sparkling Peach and IZZE Sparkling Apple. I’m a huge fan of IZZE drinks for entertaining because they taste so fantastic on their own, but it’s also so easy to make a quick cocktail with one! This setup I have here is more of a family-friendly party, but if you’re craving some adult beverages, I would highly recommend mixing your IZZE Sparkling Peach with 1 part vodka and adding a fresh rosemary for a fun green garnish!
What are your St. Patty’s day traditions?
Thank you to IZZE for partnering with me for today’s post! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This year was the first year in many that I’ll be staying home and taking it easy, and I CANNOT wait – haha. #GettingOld

I’m SUCH a fan of IZZE. And I’m a fan of mixing it up and doing St. Patty’s at home instead of at a bar!
