Let Me Tell You ‘Bout My Best Friend

As I’ve gotten older, I can certainly say that once you find a good friend, keep them at all costs!

This lady right here, her name is Suzie. We met back in D.C. and she helped me find my first apartment in Arlington (we were neighbors back in the day). A year later, she told me that her and her boyfriend at the time were moving to Philadelphia and while I was sad that she was no longer going to live next door to me, I was stoked that I had an excuse to visit one of my favorite cities ever!

We joke and say we had a “long-distance friendship”, and 2 years later I finally moved to Philly — and we’re neighbors yet again. I can’t tell you how much this lady has saved my life a million times. She was one of the first people I talked to when I got laid off from my job last December and decided to go out on a limb and try blogging full time. We’ve been together through breakups, promotions, lay offs…you name it! Honestly, I’m thankful to have such an amazing friend like this, and even though we lived several states apart for the majority of the time we’ve known each other, you better believe we made it work!

National Friendship Day is on August 6th this year, but I’m kicking off the celebration a little early here on the blog (I’ll be in Chicago this weekend, so sadly I won’t be able to hang out with my besties this year!) Suzie, myself, and some of our other gal pals spent a Sunday afternoon hangout out on a rooftop with a few drinks and snacks — and plenty of girl gossip to share! I made my friends this Clementine Gin cocktail that I whipped up with one of my favorite IZZE products, Sparkling Clementine. Honestly, this drink is delicious on it’s own, but if you want to serve this at a small party, here’s the incredibly easy recipe I whipped up!

IZZE Sparkling Clementine Gin Cocktail

Ingredients

Scale 1x2x3x

• 6 oz. IZZE Sparkling Juice Clementine
• 2 oz. gin
• 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
• Mint, for garnish (optional)

Cook Mode Prevent your screen from going dark

Instructions

1. Fill two glasses with ice.
2. Pour 1 ounce of gin into each glass, top each cocktail with 3 ounces of the lZZE Sparkling Juice Clementine.
3. Gently stir and serve. Garnish with mint, if desired.
