Farm Rio has become one of fashion’s most buzzed-about brands over the past few years. They’re a refreshing, vibrant, and fun brand born out of Brazil that will make you stand out in a sea of sad beige. You guys have asked me for a Farm Rio Review for months, and I am so happy to share my honest thoughts on the brand with you!

I know, I know — sometimes, ordering foreign brands can always feel a little uneasy. You might ask yourself: is this brand legit? What is the quality like? Will I get my money back if something doesn’t work out?

I’ve been shopping at Farm Rio pretty religiously for a few years now, and…well, if you follow me on social media, you know that it is one of my go-to brands. Full disclaimer: I was gifted once by Farm Rio in 2020, but ever since I tried the brand, I’ve happily spent way too much of my own money every season on this magical clothing line.

So, is Farm Rio legit? I think so — here’s my honest opinion of the Brazilian brand.

Farm Rio Review: About the Brand & Sizing

Farm Rio is a Brazilian brand that has made waves across the world recently. From their stores in New York and Los Angeles to their recent pop-ups in Milan and London, the brand is drumming up excitement across the globe.

So — what makes Farm Rio so unique? And why am I obsessed with it? For starters, the prints and colors they feature every season are one of a kind and will make you stand out in the best way possible.

Not to mention — I think that Farm Rio does a great job at making flattering pieces for many types of bodies. Do they have a proper plus-size collection? No. Hopefully, they will one day because I hope that as many people as possible can experience this brand. However, I’m a curvy, midsize girl, and many clothing pieces from other brands just don’t fit me right. I don’t know how Farm Rio does it, but everything I try on from the brand fits me flawlessly. I’m guessing that it’s due to some sourcery, but I’m sure that there’s a more logical reason as to why the fit with Farm Rio is so good.

While there aren’t many Farm Rio stores in the U.S., the brand is carried by several larger retailers such as Nordstrom, Shopbop, Anthropologie, and more. However, when I’m not shopping at their Los Angeles store, I’ve had a great experience ordering directly from Farm Rio’s website — I usually receive my orders within 2-4 days of placing them.

Fit Notes: I find that Farm Rio tends to run a tad bit on the larger side —if you’re in between sizes, I would size down. However, for items that fit a little snugly on my hips, I feel that those run a little more true to size.

Farm Rio Review: Sustainability

Another disclaimer: by no means am I claiming to be a sustainability expert. However, as I grow older, I am trying to buy less and spend my money on brands that are more conscious of their environmental footprint.

Farm Rio is a part of the United Nations Global Compact and have established a sustainability agenda that is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda. Farm Rio does use responsible materials with their products, and with every purchase, they will plant a tree on their behalf. In 2022 alone, they planted 17,834 trees.

Farm Rio Review: Orders & The Return & Exchange Process

Farm Rio ships to several countries across the globe, but today, I’ll be speaking about the ordering process in the United States.

Farm Rio orders are fulfilled in the U.S., and I’ve found that the wait time between placing the order and receiving it isn’t very long. With standard shipping, you should get your order in 5 business days, if not less.

I haven’t had to make many returns, but they are free, and I find them relatively easy. I prefer to return at the LA store when I can, but returns are usually processed within 7-10 days if you decide to ship them back.

Farm Rio Review: Tips & Tricks for Shopping

One thing that I love about Farm Rio is that they tend to repeat the same cuts year after year. While they come out with gorgeous and fun new prints each season, because the cuts on their clothing are very similar year after year, I don’t feel the need to overspend and get a whole brand new set of Farm Rio items every few months. In fact, despite these pieces being very bold, I find them to be pretty timeless, and I find myself reaching for them year after year.

I consign my clothes pretty regularly, but out of all the brands I shop at, I’ve held on to my Farm Rio pieces the longest. Are they the cheapest items? No. But they’re beautifully made, have exquisite details, they’re unique, and they’re items that I want to hold on to.

Once I realized that Anthropologie carried their pieces – I was all in. I love their unique pieces & prints. They are lacking a proper plus size range, but the XL size is very generous.

I recently discovered farm rio and I just had to order one of those beautiful dresses. I am 5ft 3 and the dress hits the floor but fits my body perfectly. I don’t mind spending my money on this brand.
