I know, I know, it is not Thursday nor are these “throwback” photos, so why the heck did I title this post #TBT? Guys, I am serving some serious 2004 vibes right now. Two things I never thought I would rock again somehow magically made it onto my blog. Let me explain.

Exhibit A: the denim mini skirt. I’m kind of slow to this trend, and when I saw some of my favorite bloggers rock the sleek, updated denim mini back in spring, I thought to myself, they look amazing in them but I will probably look like I’m 12 if I put one on. That is, until I stumbled into my nearest LOFT and found the perfect denim mini, smack dab in front of the store. I thought why not, let me just try this on and hate it. And folks? I loved it. So much that I may or may not have just kept it on for a solid 15 minutes while Snapchatting myself to everyone I knew. I love that the new denim mini is a bit longer and fits like a pencil skirt, rather than the tragic A-Line shape we were used to last decade.

Exhibit B: that super chic bag you see here? Folks, it’s Vera Bradley. I kid you not. I love it when I can “grow up” with a brand, and Vera is no exception. I rocked her wristlets and duffel bags like it was my job back in middle/high school, but once I hit college I abandoned the once beloved brand for more grown up, leather pieces. I was super surprised to learn all about Vera Bradley’s new line of sleek new leather handbags. This is not your middle school Vera, friends. This new line is perfect for your new fabulous adult life.

  4. Love the simplicity of this look! Can’t go wrong with a good pair of denim (or denim skirt) and a white tee.

  7. Haha – I love the title of this post! I still haven’t jumped back on the denim skirt trend but you are starting to convince me. Also, VB bags are my old/new thing! .. I still have so many printed cosmetic case and duffels, but loving the new leather for handbags!

Holy geez, this outfit is AWESOME. Im sorta scared to try a denim skirt, but you’ve totally inspired me. I’ve had some kind of Vera Bradley purse for as long as I can remember, and no matter how old I was when I bought it, I can still reuse it today!

I’ve been a bit critical of the denim skirt’s return (it definitely takes me back to middle school haha)- but you’re DEFINITELY my favorite blogger so far wearing one!! This is so chic! And love that new VB bag too- I also loved Vera in high school!

Alicia, I love this look! If I were to buy a denim mini (which I honestly probably will ASAP) it would be this exact wash. Animal print accessories are a must and the easiest way to transition your outfit to fall!
