Happy Friday, friends! I figured I’d ease into the weekend with a recap of Days 2 and 3 of Fashion Week. I was a little bummed because I woke up with food poisoning on Day 3 and missed my first two shows (I was supposed to head to Jill Stuart and Laurence & Chico), but hopefully I’ll be able to catch them next season! I did manage to make it out of my apartment later that day to catch my last couple of shows however. Without further adieu, here’s a glimpse into days 2 and 3!
Did you miss the Day 1 recap? You can find it here!
Day 2

10:00 AM: I head over to Skylight once again to catch the Dan Liu show. I was late, so hence the 3rd row seats! This collection was pretty interesting to me because it didn’t use a ton of the expected fall colors and fabrics. It was super feminine, colorful and fun overall. My kind of F/W collection!

12:00 PM: I hang out for a bit until the Hakan Akkaya show. It was a coed show so I don’t have too many photos, but it was an edgy girl’s dream. I loved all of the textures featured in the show: it had everything from leather to vinyl to fishnets! This collection definitely has inspired me to have a bit more fun with layers next season.

1:00 PM: I head over to Lulu Frost for the Stylinity Blogger Lounge. We got to hear supermodel Veronica Webb speak about her modeling career and her venture into blogging, and I got a chance to mix and mingle with a few other bloggers.
4:00 PM: I met up with a couple of friends for happy hour and dinner. Chill rest of the night to wrap a crazy day!
Day 3
8:00 AM: My alarm goes off and unfortunately…I am sick as a dog! I wasn’t able to eat anything, and I knew I definitely had food poisoning. Unfortunately I had to skip my first two shows, but I did end up feeling better to leave my house in the afternoon.
4:00 PM: I get myself together to catch the tail end of the Shopstyle Social House. It was awesome to get my makeup done, meet with brands, and borrow a few looks to get me through the rest of the week. (sharing those later on the blog!

6:00 PM: I finally make it to my first show of the day: Georgine. This was one of the highlights of my week, and I’m so glad I was able to overcome food poisoning to get to it! I loved the jewel tones in the color palette, the luxe textures, and the incredible attention to detail with this collection. It was perfect for a girly-girl who wants to give her look a bit of edge.
8:00 PM: I feel like death at this point, but I end up making it to my very last show of the day: Francesca Liberatore. I had a seat that was kind of high up, so that’s why these photos are horizontal (sorry for the switch up!) I loved the color scheme of this collection for fall: peach, gray, light blue and dark blue. I thought it was so stunning, and a change of pace from what you’d typically expect. It was incredibly elegant and feminine, and I loved her use of fur, lace, and stripes.
Overall Trends:
My favorite trend out of these past two days were the unexpected color palettes. Yes, there was plenty of black and jewel tones, but I love the idea of peach, light pink and light blue for fall. These colors that you mainly see in spring are a fresh, unexpected change from seasons past.
I also loved the layering I saw these two days. I definitely want to play with sheer layers a lot more next fall (or even now!) I’ll add a full camisole under sheer tops and most likely a mini skirt under sheer maxis, but it’s a trend that I don’t really experiment with enough that I definitely want to rock!
That blogger lounge sounds really cool! I’d love the opportunity to get to connect and hear from other creatives in the industry! I’m hoping to go to NYFW in September, so I’m loving hearing about everyone’s experience!
