Last week I swung a trip back to D.C. to check out China Chilcano‘s Ceviche Festival menu (which is running now through July 9th!) I meant to get this post up earlier this week, but my mom had a hip replacement surgery so it’s been a little difficult to blog and hold down the household at the same time! However, you still have over a full week to check this out amazing special menu!
At China Chilcano’s Ceviche Festival, you can try out a special menu of 16 (yes, sixteen!) different ceviches. It’s hard to pick a favorite dish, but there’s a spicy salmon ceviche they offered that I’m definitely still craving right now. If you can’t make it for the festival, China Chilano is a solid bet for dinner overall. It’s a Chinese-Peruvian fusion concept by Jose Andres that has some of the most unique dishes I’ve ever tried!
The overall vibe of China Chilcano is “D.C. Dressy Casual” as I’d like to call it, and it’s a great spot to hang out with girlfriends, or for date night. I opted for a bright, breezy sundress by Kate Spade that could go from dinner to drinks with ease! What I also love about this restaurant is their dedicated “ceviche” bar — you can actually see the chefs preparing the ceviche right in front of you! When I come back to D.C., I plan on having my next date night right at the ceviche bar.
