First, a little disclaimer: my website will be under construction for a fun new redesign later today and tomorrow, so if you can’t access it no worries. It will be fully up by tomorrow! 🙂

Second, I’m super stoked to have not one but two Foodie Files features this month! I fell in love with Cava Mezze about a year ago when we had a Southern Blog Society meetup over bottomless brunch. I never got the chance to try their dinner menu — that is, until Natalie of The Fashionably Broke invited me and a few other bloggers to her birthday dinner a few weeks ago.

For those of you who don’t know, Cava is a really awesome local Greek chain in the D.C. area that’s rapidly expanding and poised to take over the food industry any second now. They have two different restaurants: Cava Grill, which is fast-casual, and Cava Mezze, a sit-down tapas style restaurant that serves Mediterranean dishes with a modern flair. I was so stoked to finally try their dinner menu and friends, it did not disappoint.

We started off by sampling every dip they had on the menu (you can sample all five for only $10.50!) My favorites had to be the Crazy Feta and Roasted Eggplant dips. Afterwards, we quickly ordered dozens of dishes to share (hello, we’re fashion bloggers who LOVE to eat!). A few highlights for me were the scallops and risotto, the brussel sprouts, and naturally, the mac and cheese. Going with a huge group was awesome, because you could just sample everyone’s delicious dishes and really get a feel for the menu.

Overall, the atmosphere is amazing and it’s perfect for a Girls’ Night Out (or day out if you want to try their brunch on the weekends!) I cannot wait for my next Cava Mezze visit!
