So: you’re headed off on a fall trip this year. In my opinion, fall is the best time of the year to travel: airfare is cheaper since summer break is over, the temperatures are starting to cool down in most parts of the country, and you can go leaf-peeping and enjoy the most magical time of the year.
If you’re getting ready to head off on a fall adventure this year, here are some items that you won’t want to forget. Today, I’m sharing my fall travel essentials to help you make the most out of your fall trips this year!
7 Fall Travel Essentials
Layers
This is probably a no-brainer, but you’re going to want to pack a sufficient amount of layers with you. While we all tend to gravitate towards jackets and sweaters in the fall, don’t forget to pack some extra t-shirts and tank tops as well. If it gets warm during the day, or if it gets a bit toasty in your car, it’s great to have some options to help you stay at the most optimal temperature at all times.
Rain Gear
If you’re headed to the East Coast this fall, there’s a pretty decent chance that it might rain on your trip. I’d recommend packing some rain gear while you’re traveling this season: waterproof jackets, umbrellas, and rain-friendly shoes are an absolute must.
Smart Water Bottle
I received a LARQ Water Bottle in a PR package earlier this summer, and it’s a complete gamechanger. Now, I won’t leave home without it! This water bottle is self-cleaning, and it can neutralize up to 99.9999%* of bio-contaminants from your water using UV-C light. You can recharge the bottle cap with a USB cord, and when you’re on the go, just press the top of the bottle to clean the bottle. Smart water bottles come in handy when you’re on the road for several days!
Activewear
Activewear always comes in handy whenever you’re traveling, no matter what time of year. Let’s face it: sometimes, on trips, you might want to go on a hike, take a yoga class on the road, or you might just want something comfortable to lounge in after a long day of adventures. Activewear is always the MVP of the trip. This is one item I never regret packing!
Hiker Boots
The name of this style of shoe is a bit misleading. Can you climb up a mountain in these? Probably not. However, these are comfortable, stylish shoes that you can wear with your leggings and jeans during your fall adventures. Not only are hiker boots sleek, but they’re also very practical and can provide a great deal of warmth in colder weather as well.
Travel Wrap/Scarf
Last year, I got my first White and Warren cashmere travel wrap, and now I always pack it with me on trips. They’re perfect in the summer when the AC is blasting, and they’re ideal for colder weather as well. I wear travel wraps as scarves, capes, and honestly — I even use them as blankets sometimes. They’re a great investment and the perfect layer.
Backpack for Day Trips and Travel Days
Once I found the right travel backpack, I found that my trips ran so much more smoothly. It was awesome to find something that had enough storage space for my tech and personal items and a piece that I could repack and bring with me on excursions during my trip as well. Backpacks are fantastic because they’re easy to carry, can fit underneath an airplane seat, and you can use them to store extra layers, camera equipment, and anything else you might need during your fall adventure.
