Cheers to the long weekend, my friends!
What do you have planned for Labor Day? Since Tom and I are headed on a 3-week adventure next week, we’re laying low at home this weekend. I have a zillion projects that I need to wrap up before hopping on the plane next Wednesday, so fingers crossed that I’m able to be productive and knock off everything on my to-do list! But before I do that, I have the perfect end of summer cocktail I want to share with you!
Whether you’re traveling this weekend or if you’re having a staycation, one end of summer cocktail that you should try this weekend is the Aperol Spritz. It’s the perfect daytime cocktail that you can enjoy at brunch, happy hour, on vacation…the possibilities are endless! I love ordering them at restaurants if I’m out and about with friends, but it’s also super easy to make at home. Aperol is also celebrating their 100th anniversary this year, so what better way to celebrate than to create one at home?
Ready to try one? Here’s a super easy Aperol Spritz recipe below!
The Perfect End of Summer Cocktail

The Perfect Aperol Spritz
Ingredients
- Cubed ice
- Prosecco
- Aperol
- Soda water
- Orange slice
Instructions
- Add cubed ice to a wine balloon glass
- Add equal parts Prosecco and Aperol
- Add a splash of soda water
- Garnish with an orange slice
Another cocktail I love to make with Aperol? We served “Aperol Mimosas” (a drink we made up at brunch one day). Instead of orange juice, we used Trader Joe’s tangerine juice, added in prosecco, and put in a splash of Aperol. It was an unexpected combo, but ended up being a total hit! IMO, Aperol Spritz is delicious, but if you have a friend who’s looking for something a bit sweeter, the mimosa will do the trick!
Enjoy the long weekend responsibly! đ
