The Best Investment I’ve Made as a Full-Time Blogger

I have to say, that being your own business owner at such a young age is super exciting, and mildly terrifying. Taxes? Health Insurance? No PTO? Yikes, yikes and yikes. A lot of people think my life is super glamorous as a full-time blogger — it’s super fun I will admit, but you do have to be on your toes at all times and think of new ways to grow your business and get through the work day more efficiently.

As most of you know, I finally moved into my very first place on my own. And it’s a relatively spacious one-bedroom apartment too in my dream neighborhood! Since I live by myself, I decided to set up shop in my apartment as well. I’ve had to make a ton of investments over the years to better my business, including a new camera, new computer, portable phone chargers to get me through events, and more!

I have, recently, made one investment that I think is incredibly important: I invested in faster WiFi. Because I live in a bigger apartment complex and we only have one internet provider to choose from, often times I wasn’t getting the internet speed I needed. I download and upload hundreds of photos a day, edit and upload videos, so my slow internet was really holding up my day!

As a business owner, I always ask myself this: is there a way you can accomplish your tasks more efficiently? That’s why I jumped at the chance to try out eero, which is a sleek WiFi system that gives me the internet speed boost I need — and looks fabulous while doing it! It’s a lot more aesthetically pleasing that my typical router, and I’ve placed the system in multiple spots in my apartment so I can get blazing fast internet from any room in my house. Because my internet is so much faster now, I’m able to write blog posts faster, push out more emails, and upload and download more photos in a day. Cheers to productivity, friends!

  1. This is so cool! We have a small apartment, but we can’t seem to get good wifi outside of the kitchen & living room, so my fiance & I were actually talking about getting one of these!

  3. Being self-employed is a dream I cannot wait to attain! WiFi is not the best in my apartment and it can get extremely annoying when I have multiple tabs open. I’ve never heard of eero before.

Wi-fi is definitely a must for any blogger! We don’t have any wall connections for internet in my home and it is a 2-story so we’ve had to install extenders so the signal stays strong.

Just yesterday my husband and I were discussing internet speeds! Presently our neighborhood only has Comcast, but soon we’ll also have AT&T. Thank you so much for introducing me to the eero concept. I’d never heard of this before, but now I know what I need to boost my internet speeds!
