Half Moon Bay I still don’t quite understand how or why California is so beautiful. -
La Jolla I can safely say that San Diego was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to in the U.S. -
Los Angeles Guys…I just uploaded my first YouTube video! -
Palm Springs Okay, so technically, up until recently, I’ve never “been” to Palm Springs before. -
Pasadena A gorgeous, old Hollywood town just 20 minutes north of downtown Los Angeles, best known for its gardens, museums and cafes. -
Redondo Beach I’ve explored a lot of the Los Angeles beach scene over the years, but Redondo Beach has always held a special place for me. -

Wineries in California
-
Acquiesce Winery
Lodi
An entire winery of white wines, plus a gorgeous rosé, and it is woman-owned. Rhône whites and rare varieties with a food menu that changes monthly. Even die-hard red drinkers will be won over.
Tasting fee: $10–$20 Walk-ins welcome
-
Bokisch Vineyards
Lodi
This is where Lodi's not-just-Zin reputation really clicks. The founder pioneered Spanish varieties in California, and the Albariño and Tempranillo are the real deal. I could have stayed all day.
Tasting fee: From $10 Walk-ins welcome
-
Brasswood Cellars
Napa Valley
The Cabernet Franc was a highlight; stay for lunch after a cave tasting.
-
Comstock Wines
Dry Creek Valley
A small, family-owned winery that is elevated but approachable, with food pairings that think outside the box. Try the Zinfandel from 118-year-old vines.
Tasting fee: $30–$45
-
Jeremy Wine Co.
Lodi
Come for the old vines and the experience. I walked a block planted in 1925, then made my own blend in their hands-on Zin Lab, one of the most fun things I did all trip.
Tasting fee: From $15 Walk-ins welcome
-
L’Aventure
Paso Robles
What happens when a Bordeaux-trained winemaker stops following Bordeaux rules.
Tasting fee: $50–$150
-
Law Estate Wines
Paso Robles
For the view and the Rhône program. Reservation required, and they mean it.
Tasting fee: From $50
Macchia Wines
Lodi
A really fun, family-owned winery with a bocce court and a stack of award-winning wines. Perfect if you are rolling in with a group.
