5 Cool Technology Gadgets I Won’t Travel Without

Westin Copley Place, Andiamo Luggage - 5 Cool Technology Gadgets I Won't Travel Without featured by popular DC travel blogger, Alicia Tenise

This past year, I’ve spent more time on the road than actually in my home city. It’s been a huge adjustment, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m thankful for the opportunity to be on the move constantly: since I’m still unmarried and without kids, I’m taking every opportunity to travel while I can!

I’ve had so many instances where I’ve had maybe 12 hours to pack in between trips, so I’ve gotten pretty good at packing up on the fly. Here are a few cool technology gadgets that I’ve found make traveling a lot easier — and I won’t leave home without them!

5 ESSENTIAL COOL TECHNOLOGY GADGETS TO TRAVEL

Rose Gold Portable Charger
You’d be surprised how many people travel without one of these bad boys. A portable charger is an absolute must for any traveler. Not only is it a struggle to find an outlet in an airport, but if you have a long day of exploring, you don’t want to be stranded with a dead phone.

For starters, this charger, in particular, is stunning: it’s a gorgeous shade of rose gold that always turns heads. It also can charge two phones/devices at once, which always comes in handy since I’m usually always traveling with someone who forgot their portable charger. I can usually get 3.5 full phone charges out of this battery.

Noise Cancelling Headphones
I think I have pretty bad luck on flights. I’m always seated near a loud bachelorette party, a screaming toddler, or a couple in the middle of a fight.

I usually end up traveling alone, so I like to zone out and either work on my computer or go to sleep. I love these Skullcandy Hesh 3 headphones, because I seriously can’t hear any of the annoying folks around me when I put them in. The only thing I can hear is my carefully curated Spotify playlist.

Another bonus? They’re Bluetooth headphones so that you can use these bad boys wirelessly. Which is a gamechanger.

A Small, But Mighty, Camera
Okay, I’m pretty sure you saw the price on this bad boy. Kind of insane, I know. And full disclaimer: this is one of the cameras that Tom owns — since he’s a professional photographer, he can justify the cost of this!

However, we’re not big fans of lugging our big DSLRs around, and this camera has all the capabilities of a full-frame DSLR in a super compact size. Seriously, the photos that come out of this bad boy are incredible. It has a fixed 35 mm F/2 lens, so you can get those dreamy, wide-angle shots you see on your favorite travel blogger’s feed. However, the compact size makes it less intimidating, and I feel a lot more comfortable posing in front of it!

The Ultimate Portable Steamer
I snagged this portable steamer last Prime Day because it had a few good reviews from some of my friends. I use a large steamer at home, and I personally hate ironing my clothes, so I knew this purchase would be worth it.

I am very impressed with the quality of this steamer. Even though it’s very compact, it packs a huge punch — and it makes getting ready that much easier. It heats up pretty quickly and can get out some of the toughest wrinkles in my garments (linen dresses, I’m looking at you!) Snag this item because let’s be honest: who enjoys using the hotel iron and ironing board?

The Best Portable Bluetooth Speaker
Is it really a vacation if you can’t bump some jams? I think not!

I got this Bluetooth speaker in a goody bag at an event last year (side note: thank you, Verizon!), and my boyfriend and I have used it non-stop ever since. It’s a 360-degree speaker with incredible sound quality. Seriously, I think I prefer the bass on this speaker more than my Amazon Echo!

This speaker is perfect for getting ready in your hotel room, days at the pool, or even if you want to watch a movie from your laptop and need a little boost in sound.
