Guys: summer is kind of the best season. Between BBQs, pool time, festivals and concerts, I always have plenty of fun activities to fill up my schedule!

My favorite thing to do during the summer? Traveling, of course! So far this summer I’ve been to Phoenix, Virginia Wine Country, New Orleans, the Jersey Shore (I promise some beaches aren’t super tacky like the TV show!) and I’ve made quite a few day trips up to NYC. For the month of August, I’m headed to Chicago, doing a road trip from NYC to Portland, Maine, Boston, Baltimore and Norfolk. Whew.

Let’s face it: traveling expenses can add up. From flights to hotels to gas, there’s a lot that you’ll be spending money on while you’re on the road. I decided to get a Chase Freedom credit card last summer since I knew I loved to travel, and in my honest opinion, this card is 100% worth it! Select Chase cards feature an amazing rewards program called Chase Ultimate Rewards, and every time you use your card you earn points.

The cool thing about the Chase Ultimate Rewards program? You can redeem your points for just about anything – from travel and experiences and even gift cards of your choice! Since I can’t stay in one city for too long, I like to redeem my points for the travel gift cards, which can be used toward hotels, car services, gas stations and more. When I’m not traveling, I also love to redeem my rewards at Amazon.com.

In a sense — I’m getting rewarded for traveling when I book flights, hotels and rental cars with my card and earn points. I also can travel more often with this rewards program as well since I can use those points toward more traveling! Win/Win scenario, right? If you don’t travel as much, don’t worry: you can redeem your points for a variety of different gift cards, including restaurant, home decor, movie theater, apparel, spa/beauty cards and more!

If you’re already a Chase cardmember with Ultimate Rewards, sign into your account on the Ultimate Rewards portal to learn more about current special gift card offers. If you are not a Chase cardholder, check out the benefits provided through Chase Freedom Unlimited.

What would you use Chase Ultimate Rewards for this summer?

I’ve heard good things about this card! I currently have an Amex and the Capital One Venture card for travel but I may have to check this one out as well.
