Ch-Ch-Changes

Merry (early) Christmas, everyone! I’ve hinted at this for weeks now, but today is the big day: I’m getting surgery for carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome. I was diagnosed with these syndromes when I was 17, and after suffering from this for 8 years, I’m pretty stoked to finally do something about it! For those of you who are wondering how a seemingly healthy 25-year-old could develop this, its because A. I have a genetic predisposition to it and B. I’m an email marketer so I type all day long. Ouch

I know I know, most of you probably are wondering why the heck I’m getting surgery so close to Christmas: my company gives us the week in between Christmas and New Years’ off and I didn’t want to use up all of my PTO for this procedure, so bam. Christmas surgery for me! I’ve celebrated 24 great Christmases in the past, so I’m sure missing one won’t be too bad. I’m not gonna lie, I’m kind of nervous about going under the knife, so if y’all could send me some good vibes today, I’d love you forever.

Since I’m getting two incisions on my arm and I’ll be in a bandage for a few weeks, blogging is going to be a bit difficult for me these next few weeks (maybe even months!) I’m not exactly sure how fast I’ll be able to recover from the surgery, but don’t you fret: I’ve pre-scheduled some posts and also gathered an awesome group of guest bloggers for the next few weeks in my absence.

I’m also not sure when I’ll be able to shoot outfit posts again. I might be able to fit some in the second week of January, I might not be feeling up to them until mid-February: again, this really depends on how fast I’ll be able to recover and if I’m in the mood to shoot. And maybe how ugly my arm looks post-op. I do, however, want to shift my winter posts moreso in the realm of blogging tips and lifestyle posts while I’m “out”. I’ll still sprinkle some fashion here and there, but lifestyle posts will be the easiest for me to produce during my recovery. I should be fully recovered by March/able to work out again after the 3-month mark.

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, and I’ll see you in 2016 friends! I’ll probably still be Snap-chatting during recovery (and showing off my embarassing bandages), so if you want to keep in touch, add me! My username is ‘aliciatenise’.

  7. Good luck with the surgery! Definitely don’t blame you for doing it now (why waste PTO on not fun things). Merry Christmas!
