I have a love/hate relationship with driving in D.C. I live in Arlington, and one of the most beautiful sights to see when you’re driving into the city is the National Mall in the distance. It also makes sense for me to drive to some spots in the city to avoid such an awkward metro route.
The thing I’m not a fan of in D.C.? Finding parking, actually having to parallel park, moving my car every two hours to dodge parking tickets, and, quite frankly, not owning a vehicle that’s big enough to haul everything during my IKEA runs. Solution? I’ve chatted about car2go in the past, but they recently introduced me to their new fleet of cars that I fell in love with!
I took their new Mercedes-Benz GLA for a spin around town, and it’s probably my favorite vehicle I’ve ever driven (no disrespect to my Honda — but can you really blame a girl for wanting to cruise around D.C. with a Mercedes-Benz?) All I had to do was look for the nearest available car on my app, walk towards this amazing car and start the rental – all from my phone.
For iPhone users, you’re in for a treat: the new line of Mercedes-Benz car2go vehicles has Apple CarPlay, so I was able to instantly sync my phone to my car (music, text messages, phone calls — they all came through the car, and I didn’t have to wait for a slow Bluetooth sync!). It also has a rearview camera which came in handy, since I’m a pretty terrible parallel parker. What I love most about car2go is that you don’t have to worry about parking at all: you can park in permit parking zones and meters for no additional charge, as long as you’re within the authorized car2go D.C. Home Area. Perfect for that 3 hour brunch when you don’t want to move your car!
D.C. is one of the first cities in North America to get the new line of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, so if you need a quick lift around town, I would highly suggest cruising in style! If you sign up here, there’s a one-time registration fee of just $5.00 and all new members receive a $10.00 drive credit, so you’re first trip is on car2go! I personally cannot wait until I can take one of these babies for a spin again — who knows, I have to drive into the city again today for some blog appointments, and it might be the perfect time to book another car!

Thank you to car2go for partnering with me for today’s post!
The possibilities are endless! Right now, D.C. and Arlington members can enjoy limited time lowered pricing. Sign up here to hop in any car2go for just $10.00 an hour (regularly $14.99) or $50.00 per day (regularly $84.99).
What a cool car that is!
What a great way to get around D.C.! My dad has that car and it’s so fun to drive!

Back up cameras are SUCH a lifesaver, but I will say they’ve spoiled me for life and I feel like a fish out of water when I have to back up in a car without one! Haha
That sounds like such a great service for city dwellers who only need cars on occasion.
If I lived in a city i’d definitely need a back up camera too, it makes parallel parking so much less stressful!
