As some of you know, my birthday was a couple of weeks ago. Since I recently moved to the ‘burbs and I now have a 45-minute commute in D.C., I wanted to team up with the folks over at the Capital Hilton for a super fun staycation! Long story short, if you’re going to do a staycation, your birthday is the perfect time to do so. It was super relaxing to be able to get ready in my suite, head downstairs for cocktails, and to only be steps away from The White House.

Checking in to the Capital Hilton was the coolest experience: by downloading the Hilton Honors app, I was able to actually check in from my phone, and completely bypass the front desk. My phone acted as a key to let me in, which was so convenient! I hung up all of my garments, made myself at home, and had some amazing ladies from Veluxe, which is an on-demand beauty and wellness app, do my hair and makeup for my big night out on the town.

After getting my hair and makeup done, I went downstairs to The Statler Lounge and met the Capital Hilton’s mixologist, and he walked me through some amazing whiskey drinks that are unique to their spring menu. You know me — I’m obsessed with all things whiskey! After that, I hit the town for a night of drinks and dancing with friends to celebrate the big 2-7.

The best thing about the Capital Hilton is that it’s made for people who want to explore the city. It truly is a luxurious hotel, and if you want to have a lazy day — you can definitely do so! But if you want to explore the town and all that it has to offer, it’s in the best location and the staff can help you get around the city with ease.

Since I live right outside of the city now, I definitely will need to plan a lot more staycations — and I can’t wait to have my next one at the Capital Hilton!
