Welcome to another edition of Foodie Files! As you all know, a big hobby of mine is eating. When I moved to D.C. three years ago, my goal was to try at least 3 new restaurants a month. To be quite honest, with the amount of amazing restaurants in and around the D.C. Metro Area, I’m still trying out new places years later!
The latest place I’ve dined at? I grabbed a friend for brunch at Barcelona’s 14th Street Location. I’ve been to happy hour at Barcelona before and loved every minute of it, but I had yet to sit down and try a meal. Boy oh boy: I was not disappointed.
A Barcelona brnuch isn’t your typical brunch. A Barcelona brunch doesn’t have a bottomless option, but my friend and I were able to share a ton of delicious plates! We started with a delicious cheese and charcuterie board, where our server steered us toward a couple of soft cheeses and the Chorizo Picante. Afterwards we shared a pretty good spread of tapas; including the smoked salmon + avocado toast, steak + eggs, french toast and thick-cut applewood bacon. Barcelona also has a delicious alternative to your typical mimosa: the Sangria Flora (pictured above!)
Barcelona also has an amazing outdoor patio if you’re looking to dine al fresco, but my friend and I stuck to indoor seating because it was nearly 100 degrees out! This is a great option for your next brunch date with a friend or significant other, I would definitely make a reservation beforehand just to be on the safe side!
What about you? Ever had a Barcelona brunch? What was your favorite part?
Barcelona serves brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3pm.
