You know what the best part about New York Fashion Week is, aside from the stunning designs you see on the runway? You’re really, really inspired to try things that are outside of your comfort zone.

I love D.C., but don’t get me wrong. Aside from the impeccably dressed bloggers I constantly see at events, and the crowds at the new up-and-coming spots, the fashion gets dull here at times. And as a result, my fashion gets dull at times. It was completely refreshing to go to New York and see true street style.

I know crop tops have been a trend since forever, but folks: they’re still semi out of my comfort zone. I have a 5 inch surgical scar on my stomach and I’ve really struggled in the past with letting it show. However, when I snagged this killer Chicwish skirt, I knew a crop top would balance out the length of the midi. I walked around in this ensemble all day on Sunday, and I felt like a million bucks. Surgical scar showing and all!

Another thing that made me feel like a Fashion Week baller? This Prada bag I loaned from Bag Borrow or Steal! I’ve never really carried a bag that straight up costs triple my rent before, so this was the biggest treat a girl could ask for! I was able to fit my camera, a small notebook, phone, wallet and snacks in this bad boy. I have it for another 3 weeks, and I seriously plan on bringing it everywhere! I might need to just go ahead and invest in one after this, it’s seriously a stunner and being able to “test drive” this bag was an awesome experience!
