Do you know what’s crazy? This is the third fall in a row that instead of hitting the books and going back to school, I’m simply going back to my cubical.
I am forever an undergrad at heart, but regardless, something about this time of year still seems so new and fresh. I might not be headed back to a classroom, but I am heading back to my normal social life and normal routine. August is crazy quiet in D.C., mostly due to Congress being out of session. As soon as Labor Day passes, we’re back to the regular hustle. Traffic kicks up again, the work piles on, and I start to see an insane amount of fall festivals and events fill my calendar!
With a new beginning, I always opt for a brand new wardrobe. At this stage in life, I love to mix a few investment pieces with budget friendly items to give my closet some sort of balance. As well, you know, my bank account. Payless sent over some of their favorite picks from their fall collection and I have to say, I’m very impressed!
First up is this fun pair of Christian Siriano x Payless gold metallic flats. I love picking up a new pair of flats each fall since I always end up at a ton of outdoor events and festivals, and need a cozy shoe to go exploring in! I haven’t owned a metallic pair of flats since I was a freshman in high school, but these are a lot chicer than the pair I ended up rocking in 2004. These shoes would also be a fantastic option for the office as well!
Throughout the month of September, I’ll continue to share some of my Payless back to school favorites! Let’s all take a pledge to not break the bank this back to school season, shall we?
