A Valentine’s Date Night In

Valentine's Day Date Night In Essentials - A Valentine's Date Night In by popular Washington DC lifestyle blogger Alicia Tenise

Ah, Valentine’s Day. I have to admit something to you guys: this is the first V-Day in 5 years that I’ve had a boyfriend. Gasp

My birthday is two weeks after Valentine’s Day, so I’ve always kept things low-key on the holiday so that my poor boyfriend’s wallet doesn’t get hit too hard. This year, we’re going to Paris as a belated birthday, so instead of having a fancy dinner out in the city, we plan on staying in and saving that dinero for dinner in Paris!

Since we’re staying in for Valentine’s Day this year, I’m teaming up with Babbleboxx to share some date night in essentials!

Edible Arrangements: I Love You Swizzle Berries

When Edible Arrangements comes to mind, I always think of a beautiful fruit gift basket. I had no idea they had a line of Valentine’s Day treats that are perfect to send to your loved ones! I was pleasantly surprised when this box of chocolate covered strawberries arrived at my door (and so was my boyfriend — he promptly proceeded to eat them all after we wrapped up our shoot!) As someone who doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth, I thought these were delicious, and it wasn’t an overload of sugar for me. I also thought the balloon and bear were so adorable and made the gift even more special! If you’re looking for a unique Valentine’s Day gift, this is a solid bet.

Maidenform: Modern Beauty Collection - A Valentine's Date Night In by popular Washington DC lifestyle blogger Alicia Tenise

Maidenform: Modern Beauty Collection

For a date night in, who can pass up a cute new set of undies? I think the Maidenform: Modern Beauty Collection is super chic and budget-friendly. The bra has a plunging neckline and is lightly-lined for a touch of support, and the undies are super comfortable and lay flat under clothes so that you can say goodbye to VPL! Plus, how gorgeous is this blush color? Best part? You can find both pieces at your local Kohls.

The Traveler Beer Company: Lucky Traveler Blackberry Shandy - A Valentine's Date Night In by popular Washington DC lifestyle blogger Alicia Tenise

The Traveler Beer Company: Lucky Traveler Blackberry Shandy

My boyfriend and I have a movie we’ve both been dying to see picked out for our Valentine’s Date night in, so we’ve been on the hunt for the best snacks and beverages to enjoy during the evening. The Lucky Traveler Blackberry Shandy is the perfect brew to sip on during your next Netflix session! The raspberry flavor was incredibly refreshing, and it paired well with all of our favorite snacks. I plan on enjoying this shandy with my friends and family throughout the rest of winter and into spring!

Chesapeake Bay Candle: Mind & Body – Love & Passion Candle - A Valentine's Date Night In by popular Washington DC lifestyle blogger Alicia Tenise

Chesapeake Bay Candle: Mind & Body – Love & Passion Candle

Another essential for a date night in? A great candle, of course! I burn candles all of the time in my apartment, so I’m always on the lookout for new ones to try since I go through them so quickly. The Love & Passion Candle by Chesapeake Bay Candle smells pretty amazing — it has a citrus-fruity scent of grapefruit mango, and it’s skillfully enriched with natural essential oils. A bonus? All Chesapeake Bay Candles are made in the USA. I definitely plan on picking up more of these candles to add to my collection!

Can you have a date night in without a tasty snack? I think not! My boyfriend and I consume copious amounts of popcorn (seriously, we even have our own popper!) We decided to switch things up and opt for the Popcorn, Indiana Kettlecorn which is drizzled in chocolate to spice things up for Valentine’s Day. This kettlecorn tasted amazing, and surprisingly it was gluten-free and Non-GMO project verified. It’s great knowing that your snacks won’t wreak havoc on your body!

How do you plan on spending Valentine’s Day?

  1. Everything that you have included here is fantastic. The strawberries, the lingerie and all. I also love that you are mindful of the expense that some people go through in pursuit of romance.
