One of my favorite things about NYFW? It forces me to get out of my comfort zone and try out some new looks.
I’d have to say that my style is very feminine: I love rocking all the dresses, floral prints and anything ruffled. However, this year for Fashion Week, I’m recovering from a knee injury, and I had to rock a big, bulky knee brace the entire week and couldn’t wear heels (tbh, wasn’t sad that I’m not able to wear heels!)
If I’m wearing skinny jeans, I have to wear my knee brace outside of my pants — which isn’t exactly the chicest thing on the planet. So this year, I gravitated toward wide-legged pants and roomy midi/maxi dresses that would hide my brace and keep me warm. When I saw these floral track pants, I knew I had to take a chance and rock them. And it turned out to be one of my favorite NYFW looks of all time.
How to Rock the Athleisure Trend at NYFW: Add Structured Pieces
Whenever I hear the term “athleisure,” I imagine a girl running errands in a pair of yoga pants and some sort of puffer vest. While I love the athleisure trend, there is a way to slightly dress it up while staying comfortable. I paired my track pants with a sleek blush maxi coat and a structured handbag to make the look more polished.
How to Rock the Athleisure Trend at NYFW: Play with Different Textures
Listen: I love a good sneaker. You can pair sneakers with just about anything. Jeans? Go for it. A dress? Absolutely. Track pants? Perfect duo. I adore these patent leather sneakers from Melissa, and I get so many compliments on them whenever I wear them out! They’re incredibly comfortable, and the patent leather adds an unexpected amount of shine to any look.

I am a huge fan of mixing athleisure pieces with my more “dressier” items. It’s pretty much the essence of my personal style! I love comfort! I need those pants !!!
