Sometimes I might have back-to-back meetings and need to prep for an event in a hurry, and sometimes I lose track of time in the afternoon. Whatever the case may be, I’ve had a lot of “oh crap” moments where I need to get ready for a big night out in a very short amount of time.
Here’s how I freshen up for a big night out in only 30 minutes!

Curl The Front Sections of your Hair Only
I learned this trick from a friend: but if I’m working on Day 2+ hair and already have a bit of wave in my hair, I’ll add a bit of dry shampoo and touch up the front sections of my hair rather than curling my entire head. It saves a ton of time, and it will help you achieve a cool-girl, messy wave. Brush the fresh curls out with a wide-tooth comb after you’re done to for that perfectly undone look!
Take Your Outfit from Day to Night
If I’m really short on time, sometimes I won’t have time to change my outfit completely. One easy way for me to take my look from day to night is to add some bold accessories. I’ve worn this jumpsuit for day with a big straw hat, and I like to add some statement earrings for a night out on the town. I’ll also trade out my flats for heels, and swap the tote bag for a sleek clutch!
The Five-Minute Makeup Touch Up
My makeup during the day is always pretty low-key, so I like to jazz it up during the evening. If I’m pressed for time, I’ll add some powder to reduce shine and add a bold lip to take things to the next level. If I’m going to an extra special event, I’ll add some false lashes as well! It’s a quick and easy way to take your makeup from day to night.
