If you follow me on IG Stories, you saw that last week I flew down to Atlanta for AmericasMart. I used to intern for Market Week for a very large retailer back when I was in college, so this was an incredible experience being on the other side of things and getting to view the collections as media.
If you don’t know what “Market” is, it usually happens a few weeks after New York Fashion Week, and it is a chance for buyers and media to preview next seasons’ collections — and decide which pieces will ultimately end up in retail stores.

AmericasMart Atlanta is kinda massive: the entire complex spans four buildings, and in total, it has over 7 million square feet of showroom space. They carry pretty much any kind of product you could ever imagine, from apparel to home & gifts to rugs. I went to the October Atlanta Apparel Mart which focused on apparel, shoes, and accessories. In addition to being able to browse showrooms and preview Resort and Spring ’18 collections, we also saw multiple fashion shows, mingled with other buyers and sales reps, and even spoke on a blogger panel.

What are some of the hot trends for next spring I spotted at AmericasMart? As I predicted, yellow and lavender are going to be hot shades for spring. I also saw a lot of suits — but not your stuffy, boring suits that you’d typically see in an office. The suits I spotted were in bold colors, prints, and some suits featured shorts instead of pants. Jumpsuits will also be another hot trend going into next spring, and don’t get rid of your ruffles: I spotted plenty of those on the runways and in showrooms as well!

Meet the Other VIP Bloggers: Megan, Samantha, and Alice
Why should you attend AmericasMart if you’re not a buyer? If you’re a part of the general public, you can enjoy daily fashion shows, attend panels and happy hours and head up to the “Cash and Carry” section on Floors 6 and 7 where you can buy ready to wear items at wholesale prices. I scored 4 pairs of earrings that are super on-trend for less than $30. Score!
If you’re a blogger or media, it’s great to preview next season’s lines before they hit stores. I got to see collections from some of my favorite brands: Show Me Your Mumu, Endless Rose, English Factory, Sam Edelman, Paige, Cosabella and more. It’s awesome to be able to see these pieces in real life before they hit stores rather than relying on lookbooks: you can get a sense of the quality of product and catch details you wouldn’t be able to spot on a PDF.
Thank you to AmericasMart Atlanta for partnering with me for today’s post! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
It’s so cool that you got to see all of that! I have always wanted to attend an apparel market. They all seem so fun and like a fashion lover’s dream! I loved following all of your IG stories while you were in Atlanta.
This is a great review. I have always heard of the Market and, being in Alabama, have definitely heard people talking about it. I never knew much about it though. Now you have me wanting to go.
This sounds really cool! I love the yellow floral dress, perfect colors for fall 🙂 xo, Brittany | http://www.theblistblog.com
This looks like such a blast! I’d love to go haha.
I live in Atlanta but I still haven’t visited The Mart! How sad is that?! You’ve more than convinced me to make a trip there soon!
So much fun with you lady!
