Ever since I moved from an apartment into a home, I realized wow: hosting parties can be crazy expensive. From the food to the home decor to the serving trays and barware, you need a lot of things to make a party or a get-together a major success. After hosting a few shindigs in my new home this year, I really empathize with all of the hosts and hostesses out there!
If you’re heading to a few holiday parties this year at someone else’s home, you should bring something. My default gift is wine. However, your host would also probably love it if you brought a little something for their home!
Here are a few of the best hostess gifts that anyone would love!
SHOP THESE HOSTESS GIFTS:
Monogram Notecards | Serving Spoons | Instax Camera
Marble Serving Tray | Wine Chiller | Record Player
Monogram Blanket | Monogram Candle | Cocktail Book
Bar Tool Set | Monogram Coaster | Cheese Knives
The best part about hostess gifts is that they can also double as a gift for someone who just moved into a new home or apartment (cough cough, me, if anyone’s reading). I love the idea of personalized note cards as a gift. I love sending handwritten thank-you notes to friends and loved ones: it’s what the ideal host would do! Also, instead of bringing a glass of wine to your next party, you should consider gifting the host a wine chiller. Trust me, and you’ll be the MVP at your next party if you do so! An Instax camera is also a pretty big party hit: who doesn’t love a retro-inspired camera? You and your friends will be snapping selfies all night long!
Here are a few of my other favorite hostess gifts for this season that aren’t pictured above:
- Maptote Custom Wine Tote: If you’re looking for a wine tote to gift, this one is budget-friendly and super adorable. You can pick out a tote based on the city, or select a Red or Wine wine tote. I plan on gifting a few of these to my Philly friends this year!
- Monogrammed Cheese Board: Listen — who doesn’t love a good cheese board? I loved this one in particular because you have the option to monogram it, and it’s a gift that any cheese lover will cherish for years to come.
- Initial Mug: If you need a super inexpensive hostess gift, this quirky initial mug is only $10. Bring one if your friend lives on their own, bring a second if they have a roommate or significant other living with them!
- Faux Fur Throw: If you want to gift something luxe, this faux fur throw does the trick. It’s super cozy, feels like a dream IRL, and the hostess in your life will love curling up with it during the dead of winter!
Thanks for this post. I always bring a bottle of wine to the hostess when going to a party but this list gave me some great ideas as to how to change it up. Of course I liked everything on this list and would enjoy the items also. Great ideas!
Oooh these are all such good picks! I totally want to play hostess now, just so someone can get me something off this gift guide, haha! xx

These are all great gifts that are useful and thoughtful. I find wine related gifts are always welcome– especially if personalized.
These are such great picks!

I love that bar set. It would be perfect for my kid’s Godmother.
I love all of these! As someone who hosts many get togethers, I would love to receive any of these gifts!
Love this guide!! I need those glasses!!
So many cute picks! I don’t host too many get togethers at my apartment but when I have friends over, I do have cute kitchen stuff haha.
I don’t have many friends to invite or host but I still want every single thing in this guide and just host myself.
I was just peeking at that Rose book in the store the other day – it’s so cute!
