Ok, but like…I know you’re not used to seeing this girly-girl in denim shorts. But yes. I own them. I wear them. I just rarely ever photograph myself in them! Which is why I want to talk to you today about AGOLDE jeans shorts and if they’re really worth the hype.
Truth be told, I have grown to dislike a lot of denim shorts over the years. I rocked a lot of jean shorts back in my music festival days — If you read my blog five years ago back when I was 25 years old, you know that festivals were my life back then, and I’ve become way more boring now that I’m 30-years-old living in a pandemic. Plus, I gained about 25 pounds in the last few years, so that made me dislike denim shorts even more. My thighs and my stomach both got larger, and a lot of jean shorts just felt super uncomfortable after that. I also have long legs, and I hate shorts that ride up or are too short to wear around my family!
I typically stick to dresses over the summer, but I’ve been willing to invest in a few perfect pairs of jean shorts over the years because, honestly, I’d rather buy one really good pair each year that will last me for as long as possible. Madewell has been my jam for years, but I kept seeing bloggers talk about the AGOLDE Jean Shorts on my feed. Specifically, the Parker Short and the Dee Short. It took a while for me to take the plunge and buy a pair because they retail for $128. And they also never really go on sale. But I became desperate, and I figured that since I only buy one pair of denim shorts each year, they might be worth it!
I own both pairs, and I’m breaking down both of them — and if the AGOLDE Jean Shorts are worth the investment!
AGOLDE Dee Ultra High-Rise Denim Shorts
The AGOLDE Dee Ultra High-Rise Denim Shorts were the first pair of AGOLDE jean shorts that I purchased. I was drawn to them because they have a longer inseam (3.5″), and they’re super high rise. Perfect for long-legged ladies!
Out of the two pairs of AGOLDE jeans shorts I have, I have to say these are the more flattering of the two on my body type. My stomach is a bit bigger, and it does a great job of creating a waist for me. Plus, this is the perfect length if you’re in a slightly more conservative situation (ex. at a casual work function, around family members, etc.), and don’t want to show off too much leg.
I will be candid and say these are the least relaxed/comfortable out of the two AGOLDE jean shorts I own. They’re super high rise, so don’t plan on eating at a buffet or stuffing yourself at a BBQ in these shorts. Last summer, I had to unbutton these bad boys in the car after too much grub a few times!
AGOLDE Parker Ultra High-Rise Denim Shorts
I placed an order for the AGOLDE Parker Ultra High-Rise Denim Shorts during the last Shopbop Sale…a few weeks before COVID-19 was declared a pandemic. Trust, I had a lot of plans for these shorts, and they were going to travel a lot of places, but, so far, they’ve only seen the state of Virginia and the District of Columbia.
But, I actually have gotten a lot of use out of the Parker Shorts this summer, and I will have to say they are my favorite out of the two AGOLDE shorts that I own. These are 1″ shorter than the Dee Shorts with an inseam of 2.5″, which is honestly still long-legged girl friendly. It also doesn’t ride up
when I walk, which is a miracle for someone without a thigh gap! They’re also slightly less high-rise than the Dee Short, and the fit is a bit more relaxed as well.
I love to throw these on to run errands. I wore them to a rooftop bar once, but that’s as much social action as I’ve gotten in 2020. I love that these are durable and high-quality, and I know that I’ll wear them for several summers to come!
The Verdict
Are the AGOLDE Jean Shorts worth the hype? In my opinion, if you’re picky about the length and quality of your shorts, the answer is yes. I’m wearing the Parker Short a lot more often than the Dee Short nowadays, but both are great options and options that you’ll be gravitating towards for years to come.

Do you find the Dee shorts ride up? I’m desperate for some longer shorts that don’t ride up due to lack of thigh gap!
They’re really good about not riding up. They mainly only ride up if I’m sitting in the car for too long, but other than that, they’re great for walking! I’d also recommend sizing up if you’re in-between sizes.
Thank you!!
Totally agree with you here! I have 2 pairs of Parker and a pair of the Dee! They are THE best investments I’ve made in a while.
