I’m long overdue for another Foodie Files post! If you’re new here, Foodie Files is a series where I pair an outfit with a D.C. area restaurant. That way you can get the scoop on where the good eats are in and around the city, and you know what to wear to the restaurant as well!

I was invited by The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City to try out their afternoon tea a few weeks ago and guys, I don’t think I’ve *ever* been so excited to do anything ever. The five-year-old in me was freaking out: I got to put on a dress, sip on some tea and eat delicious snacks. I mean come on, what else do you need?

This was the first time I’ve ever attended a high tea, and it certainly won’t be my last! I loved tea at The Ritz-Carlton because the service was absolutely incredible, all of the food was made from scratch (with the exception of the macarons), and the setting was completely my vibe. This would be a super fun outing for Mother’s Day, a bridal shower, or a great place to take my family members that are coming in from out of town.

The Ritz-Carlton hosts their afternoon tea every weekend, Saturdays from 2:30-4:30 pm and Sundays from 3:pm-4:30 pm. Make sure to book a reservation ahead of time, it does tend to fill up quickly!

As for the fashion: you’ll want to dress up a little bit for this event. There’s no need to go super formal, but definitely keep things classy and covered! I opted for this midi eyelet dress from J.Crew and a fun pair of blush heels
